If we employed more to make sure shit works, make sure people get what they need, make sure easy access to necessities was guaranteed, we'd both have significantly more jobs and all be significantly better off as a society.
You can fix almost all of USA’s structural problems by making it a job that pays the bills & supports families but that is not what we do here. We pay police.

A woman I know was charged with a felony for accidentally bumping a cop's shin with her foot during a domestic.
She can't vote because she bumped a cop's shin and didn't even leave a red mark.

People are in for a rude awakening if they think most "assaults on police officers" are real. We've seen teenagers charged with felonies for tapping police chiefs. A cop can start a brawl with you, throw you to the ground, and then charge you with assault. This is America.
