* write things down/make better words
* improve your processes

As someone who works in the tech industry--absolutely.

They are testing the waters. These are top-down orders. The ONLY way to stop it is a visceral negative reaction. Write articles. Post your rage. Email. Post. @. All those things.

Only you have the power to kill it.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

"Don't follow illegal orders" would be more meaningful if Democrats had prosecuted literally any of the prominent war criminals of the last 30 years instead of, you know, fucking campaigning with them

The bots obstruct sidewalks and hinder accessibility.

“Surveillance is another concern. Each Coco robot has five cameras that are constantly on and recording ‘vast amounts of data every day from...full 360-degree perception…’”
Hundreds of Chicago residents sign petition to pause robot delivery pilot program over safety concerns
There is a growing call for the City Council to hold a public hearing on the pilot program and publish accessibility data

I can tell you I’ve been saying for years that Actual Play would be very different in a world of UBI.

In fact, we have some evidence of this, as I’m arguing in my next chapter.
Honest question: If everyone got Universal Basic Income, no strings attached, what would YOU do with it?

The X-Files is genuinely a timelessly good show, because when not focusing on overarching conspiracy plot, they would really just focus on a single concept and quite crucially, it would cast an incredible actor to center the episode around who would be utterly god damn captivating to watch.

I got one of these. It would not correctly reflect blood sugar levels at all. I submitted a request for a new sensor, so at the very least you should get a replacement for your dud
Folks with Diabetes!

There is an urgent recall on some FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors because they are showing false low glucose readings.

Potential broad-spectrum antiviral. Shows efficacy against some of the worst shit. Utterly amazing news.
We're close to the world's first-ever broad-spectrum antiviral. In a breakthrough, researchers at the City University of New York have identified a promising path to the development of an antiviral that could be used to fight a wide range of deadly viruses, including future pandemic threats.

LRP: At this point the Democrats, by not even attempting to hold the GOP responsible for jack shit, have moved from useless opposition to active collaboration.

They could at least introduce legislation to impeach all these motherfuckers. It wouldn't pass but at this point I would take even that

I'm sympathetic to "Dems haven't insisted on accountability for GOP crimes in many decades" arguments. But it's also true that there has never in my adult lifetime been serious grassroots Dem voter pressure for such accountability.

Abuse culture is an ideology, as surely as capitalism or fascism.
I'm flummoxed by the underground movement to rehab cancelled figures. There's a rumor that a studio head is planning to begin bringing cancelled people back. It's bananas. The industry has contracted, leaving writers, directors and actors scrambling for work and we're making space for sex criminals?

I think the corollary that a lot of people miss about "write what you know" is that *you have the power to know more things.* Research and talking to people are a central part of writing!
“write only what you know” is bullshit because a man wrote silent hill f and this shit rocks!!!! its feminist core resonates SO strongly if you’re a woman!!!!

I’m dumbstruck by news of the death of Tom Stoppard—maybe because he hoarded all the words and knew how to use them better than just about anyone. I hope we savor his spectacular wit and erudition and argue about the politics of his plays forever. He was monumental, and also a kind and curious man.
