Black and Brown people. PLEASE, PLEASE for the love of us all do not allow yourself to be interviewed if SNAP benefits don't come on November 1. Make the white folks do the interviews. They love getting Black folks to do these interviews so that people think we are the only ones hurt.

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

my favorite part of this whole thing is that said reports were specifically written in Greek so when the explorers went back to Britain, the average person couldn't accidentally read about gay penguins and be scandalized

He's a legend. No question.
Menswear guy has spies everywhere. Doesn’t matter if you’re showing collar gap in the Twin Cities, being rude to service workers in Charlotte, or wearing a raggedy white t-shirt to eat at an expensive place in Malibu, he *will* know about it and burn you if you force his hand.
i don't get it. omen sushi in nyc is cheaper than nobu in malibu, where you dined last year without your wife

A great essay about our current reality
I spent the summer reporting this essay on why it seems harder than ever to sell a book right now—especially if it isn't a debut and comes with the dreaded "sales track." I'm grateful to the writers, agents, editors, publishers & experts who spoke to me for this piece: thewalrus.ca/the-publishi...

Ashanty is my student, and this is her first-ever professional assignment! She’s a ridiculously smart thinker and writer — read her on AI in school instead of all the adults pontificating. 🤗
Excited to present this great essay by Ashanty Rosario, a talented young journalist who attends Newtown High School in Queens, about how she's experienced the arrival of AI in the classroom.

Love that Eugene Daniels on The Weekend spoke truth when he told a viewer that one way he keeps hope alive in these troubled times is to read fiction. Yes! Keep reading fiction and know that we are out here writing it. Thank you so much!

I started subscribing a few years ago to be able to watch the whole dang PBS catalog of shows. I love it!
-Passport shows have never been streamed 'free', they've always been behind the minimum donation paywall.

-The vast majority of PBS shows *are* free, the passport shows are an incentive and reward to the people who can afford a small monthly donation, so that the free stuff can be made.

I'm seeing a newer term going around and if any agents/editors could enlighten me about what it means: what is grounded speculative fiction?
For those of us of a certain age, I'm thinking kind of Twilight Zone (reality but with a twist) but I need some clarification. Thank you!
