Any one of us could be detained for hours by ICE despite being a U.S. citizen.

Any one of us could be in the next apartment building that ICE raids in the middle of the night.

Any one of us could be the next to be brutalized by ICE for speaking out.

Authoritarianism hurts all of us.

This is a vital message: one of the larger reasons BlueSky is refreshingly free of alt-right shitlords is because in the early days we made a gentleperson’s agreement to starve these fuckos out and it worked. No likes, no quotes, no engagement. They got bored and left. Please keep the Old Ways.
Vice-President JD Vance confirms he has joined BlueSky.

Democratic senators need to stop pretending that GOP senators are their “good friends across the aisle” and realize many of them are just lying sociopaths who are actively fanning the flames of violence against them.
It’s not just Mike Lee — Bernie Moreno is pretending that a registered Republican evangelical anti-abortion Trump voter who assassinated a Democrat and had more on his hit list is a representative of “the extreme left”

I will hold the line on this. Right-wing violence has far more support, materially, institutionally and ideologically, in the U.S. than left-wing violence. There is no both-sidesing it.
And yes, this kind of violence has support on the right, in the form of pardons, statements of support from R politicians, and legitimate organizational forms (e.g. militias) that it simply does not have on the left

Awful: Trump just blamed foreign students for taking the slots of American kids. But the cuts in the House GOP bill he's pushing could cost hundreds of thousands of working class kids their route to college.

Those two things are connected. 1/

There are plenty of able-bodied adults on Medicaid. They are just working for poverty wages under circumstances where their employers aren’t required to provide insurance (< 50 employees, or working less than 35 hours /week) or full-time caregivers of minor children.
