What a dire timeline right now - even in romance. I'm going to write words about Harlequin killing the Historical line (a threat for the last decade) and now it's been announced that All About Romance, a 30-year old website is shutting down allaboutromance.com/its-been-a-g... #Romancelandia

This is a hard column to write. So I’ll just say it: AAR is retiring. All About Romance launched in 1996. It was created by the incredible Laurie Gold, and shaped over the past thirty years by a remar...

Hey everyone! ProtoPasta is on BlueSky now, and we can officially tell you all to follow them. They sent a LOT of filament, for free, to our whistle makers. They also have some of the most stunningly beautiful colors out there.
Jumping in to keep up with all the whistlemakers!
Protopasta is ready to donate filament to keep the momentum going! Reach out to our support team at [email protected] to find how you can be involved, too!

I think people often wonder this, and it's a great question, so let me explain the advantages of 3D printing whistles. There are many.

The 3D printing effort started from one of our organizers who started by sourcing mass-produced whistles.
I mean, are they really cheaper or easier to produce than just sourcing the right thing from a mass distributor? it's sweet but doesn't seem Pareto efficient, and I feel like that's important to the revolution

Remember how I said we had plans to try to reduce Amazon wishlist dependence for our whistle printers?

We'd love to get enough polymaker gift cards so we can do a bulk buy directly from the manufacturer and get a stack of filament for an entire urban area.

It's notable that there's a Christian Nationalist J6er running for Governor of Oregon (with the blessing of MAGA influencer Benny Johnson) on a "Jesus Joy" platform when 75% of Oregonians are NOT evangelicals. It's one of the least religious states in the country. Burn that money.

I’m not sure why, but the dynamic of oppression in Portland has always been different than what we have in Chicago. The Fed behavior is especially vicious in Portland.
I was there. They were indiscriminately firing multiple canisters into a huge peaceful crowd. Fucking cowards

I join my City Councilors in calling for prosecution of ICE for this flagrant violation of city and state law. This is illegal, and if ICE does this to families and children on a sunny peaceful daytime protest, I shudder to think what they do without that kind of daylight and public scrutiny.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

I've seen videos of the indiscriminate use of tear gas on a large crowd that was clearly peaceful and filled with Portlanders of all ages, and well off the macadam facility. We banned tear gas for a reason. I join Councilor Green in calling for enforcement of our laws.

i love a free country, where the president's secret police can shoot out the windows of random citizens with impunity
And ICE shot out the windows of apartments nearby. They used this munition to do it. They also shot people with this.

I’m old and have a lot less at stake than many people. If I get arrested, I won’t lose my pension. If I get shot, I’ll lose 10-20 years of arthritis getting worse and worse. I have no reason not to rouse a little rabble.
