DOJ says immigration judges, as "inferior officers," may be fired on the basis of sex, religion, race, or national origin. Leaving aside the law, it's *politically* remarkable they're taking this position.

Pete Hegseth denies he gave the order to kill them all. But even some Republicans now appear to be demanding answers, so Frank Bradley, who oversaw the bombings, is in discussions with House Armed Services about coming in.

Rep Adam Smith lays out his Qs to me here:

One of the things about trust is that it is efficient. It saves you having to invest a lot of time and effort in verification, and if placed in the right places, saves you a lot of pain.

"The diseases will do the education" is what we get when we don't trust.

My three-year-old was reading the Washington Post when she turned to me gravely and asked “Daddy, why did the funny drinking man murder the Venezuelans on the boat?” And when I told her “Because we need more lethality, less legality,” she started crying.

Many people are saying the president's observations are laden with the finest theories
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Looks like their narrative blew up once it came out the shooter was granted asylum under the Trump administration, and now they’re scrambling to shove the genie back in the bottle.

Noteworthy that POTUS is not trying to defend the second strike.

And no, the first strike wasn’t legal either.

No armed conflict, no lawful military objectives, no lawful collateral damage.

Just premeditated killing.

There’s a word for that.
Reporter: If there were a second strike that killed wounded people, would that be legal?

Trump: I don’t know that happened and Pete said he did not even know what people were talking about. I wouldn’t have wanted a second strike. The first strike was very lethal. It was fine.

The first strike was also murder. You can’t just up and kill civilians on the high seas and then claim you were at war with them.

The first clue you have to follow a judicial order is it's called an "order."
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

Yes it is

Re that Post headline, saying FDA is imposing "strict" requirements misses the mark in much the same way as describing RFK Jr as a "skeptic" fails

Skeptic and strict imply diligent attention to detail

Do Prasad or RFK Jr or Oz or Makary qualify? Not in 2025 (maybe in previous lives)

This is why elite media matters.

Team Trump has been on a serial killing spree with pretty sparse coverage until that WaPo story this week expanding upon how egregious and obviously lawless the murders are.
Van Hollen: "It's either murder from the first strike if their whole theory is wrong, and I think the weight of the legal opinion is they've concocted this ridiculous legal theory. But even if you accept it, then it is a war crime. I do believe the secretary of defense should be held accountable"

“Strong floor, no ceiling” is absolutely the type of slogan that a focus group of swing voters will tell you they find appealing after it has been a whole hour and they just want to go home.

It’s a slogan for people convinced this country *really* wants a Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign.
