#Melissa's landfall intensity of 185 mph/892 mb ties it with the Florida Key's Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 as the record minimum pressure of any TC making landfall *anywhere* the NATL basin. I feel for the residents of #Jamaica 😞

New set of preliminary track and intensity verification stats for the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season so far, including NHC ("OFCL"), 5 hurricane models, 2 global models for track or 2 dynamical/statistical for intensity, 2 consensus, and the new Google DeepMind model's ensemble mean ("GDMI").

With about 80% of the precincts reporting I've seen enough. GDMI - Google DeepMind is going to win the seat for best track model in 2025. The race for best intensity model is still too close to call, but GDMI is right there with the consensus and OFCL. Quite a remarkable campaign.

The disparity between the high majors and the rest of college basketball has never felt bigger. The conference strength drop from the Big East to the A-10 is larger than the gap between 6th and 17th.
