It's fucking weird to be living in like at least ten different apocalypses at once.

Most apocalypse stories don't stack more than five.

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

I got 3/3 and generally could tell within the first paragraph. I was about 50/50 certainty about my ID of the AI sample, but I was 100% certain that the human-written samples were human-written.

Hey all, I'm trying to get a baseline for how good people are at detecting whether fiction is AI-generated or human-written (most of the research on this is for nonfiction and my hypothesis is we're better with fiction).

If you have time, give it a try?

same exact tell for me too. The AI sample was full of adverbs and was very “tell” vs “show.” I also got all 3 right 💅🏼

It's interesting seeing the different ways resistance has formed in different cities. Los Angeles Organized, Chicago Radicalized, and Portland Got Weird as Fuck. All 3 have had success unifying their respective cities.

I guess my point is there are multiple paths to ungovernability.

This is why I love the people dressing up in frog and unicorn costumes. One, it's a very funny way to protest. Two, it mocks the fascists which they HATE and is very effective protest. And finally gives us some very handy visual aids to mark what's real and what isn't.

There is no left-wing violence in Chicago or Portland. It simply is not happening.

It's so not happening, in fact, that Republicans in Oregon took footage from two South American countries to create a hoax photo about Portland.

They have no actual violent footage to put forward.

At any point in the last 50 years you could go into any lesbian bar and find a half dozen he/him butches who are probably the nicest and most supportive members of the lesbian community you're ever going to find. They're more lesbian than anyone getting mad about he/him lesbians online, IMO.

The idea that lesbians and lesbianism is only WOMAN LOVE WOMAN is a modern idea and like other prescriptive gender and sexuality definitions is more built around people demanding their identities have Hard Rules so that they can feel like they are part of an in group versus actual lesbian history.

On the off-chance this isn't bait:

The issue is your definition of lesbian. It has never just meant Women Loving Women. Look at the legacy of butches, of daddy culture, of masculine gender expression among dykes. It is a rejection of patriarchal gender norms and romantic expectations, not just WLW.
What is a he/him lesbian? / want to be supportive of people's identities, but| eel like this is taking a word with a specific meaning women loving women) and generalizingit beyond practical function.

Int’l lesbian day seems like the perfect day to show y’all this shirt (and prints!) I designed in homage to the first edition of To Smithereens. ladybog.etsy.com
selfie of me but only showing the lower part of my face bc the tshirt is the real focus. It’s bright/deep berry pink with a design of two abstract women printed in white ink with black hair. They are locked up in a wrestling hold with their arms around each other’s neck/shoulders, but they could also be hugging or kissing. Above the women it says “Women’s Wrestling” Two variations of the same design printed on 8x10 photo paper. It’s bright/deep berry pink with a design of two abstract women printed in white ink with black hair. They are locked up in a wrestling hold with their arms around each other’s neck/shoulders, but they could also be hugging or kissing. Above the women it says “Women’s Wrestling.” The other print is the same except the background is a goldenrod color, and the women are fuchsia. Same design but the shirt is like mustard yellow and this time the women are pink with black hair. The design is two abstract women locked up in a wrestling hold with their arms around each other’s neck/shoulders, but they could also be hugging or kissing. fucked up that this is all just landlords swatting their own buildings to get rid of all the working class residents so they can raise the rent or sell to a developer who'll flip them into high end condos or w/e

like it's a real estate scam! it's a fucking land grab! a fire for the insurance money!

"The ones that are getting out are coming home to no home," Watson said.
According to her, after the raid occurred, building management stole or threw out residents belongings, including visas and important documents.

ICIRR is still trying to determine the identities of all the people detained in the raid. Castro said that the organization usually can do that by following up with family members or loved ones. "In this instance, there was nobody left to work with," she said. The only detainee name they're sure of is that of a person who passed their Venezuelan passport to a neighbor as they were being taken away.

Honestly, all of the anxiety around autistic people comes from the simple fact that we're different.

That we don't follow the rules.

That we don't do things the way neurotypicals do.

But, this one is hilarious.

There’s nothing I feel more sure of right now than this world NEEDS feminisms. Yes small f plural feminisms. We need a movement that understands how desperately white supremacy needs strict borders around gender and sexuality. The world needs feminisms that grows power comes from collective action.

The absolutely tragic evidence that the blogging era of feminism was a catastrophic failure is that there is no specifically feminist movement pressure to be applied right now on literally ANY of the surveillance, kidnapping, incarceration, shooting, forced pregnancies of women/girls.
