Note that a 14pt shift left in a red state is still catastrophic for the GOP: the only safe red states in such a wave (assuming even distribution) would be ID, OK, TN, KY, ND, AL, SD, WV, and WY.
looks like two completed counties (v red rurals) with Behn improving on Harris by 10 in one and 15 in the other -- huge shifts but not winning shifts

the Needle took a big dive to the right on the reporting of the Williamson County early vote, now R+5.7

betting markets now aligning on 5+ pt margin

The sad thing is you need expertise to validate the work of AI, and if we all use AI we'll fail to develop expertise. Intellectual Hapsburg jaws for everyone!

The issue isn’t cost. It’s that the entire infrastructure in this country has been put into cars. Parking lots everywhere and bus stations nowhere. Light rail that comes every half an hour and isn’t synchronized so it takes forever if you have to switch lines.

So if Olivia is 32 now, broke up with Lizza last year, was together with him for a decade, and then was living with you for 4+ years before that, how old was she when you moved her out of her (presumably parents’) house in the suburbs to live with you?
Btw about this from Lizza's reply: Olivia and I lived together for 4+ years (4 b'days, 4 Xmases, 4 anniversaries). That's like $1250 of jewelry per celebration. And her apartment was a writing studio. And I made an f-ton then. What was I supposed to do? Get her a lot of Gift Certificates from Kmart?

None of these men can face the fact that certain revelations mean they should quite simply disappear from public life. Yes, that's right, gone. After what's come out, there is no workplace where you would be a positive presence. Go.

he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

Forgiveness is overrated.

People are trying very hard to shift what that word actually means.

No one has to ever forgive anything. No one is entitled to be forgiven.

You cannot forgive wrongs not done unto you.

Forgiveness is not for the wrongdoer, but for the wronged.

Same. While universities are being financially gutted and we’re already working long hours, we’re supposed to magically invent a new pedagogy that substitutes their (for profit) products for well established teaching methods so what will remain of university budgets can be diverted to them.

The increase to my quality of life with WFH is immense. More time, more money, more flexible scheduling—

Anyone who insists people *must* return to the office if their employees' jobs can be done from home is a bad person.
I WFH 100% (maybe pop into the office if absolutely necessary).

I save a dead minimum of 1.5 hour of my life every day, between commute and not needing to "dress" for work.

I also save at least $200/month in gas, car insurance, and parking costs. That's HUGE.
I'm currently commuting two days a week almost an hour each way and TBH it's my limit. I cannot believe I used to do like 90 minutes each way five days a week for years.
