This guy is like one of 4 Americans who actually went and got their REAL ID and immediately they said it was a fake.

Just so everyone knows when they toss your ass in a truck it won't matter what passport or identification you have they'll throw it in the street and you're gone

“As a former police officer it was such an irony to be on the other side of things. Those inmates treated me better than anyone else.”
Australian woman, a former police officer, was detained, jailed overnight and deported from the US despite traveling there legally on a tourist visa to visit her US military husband.

Is there no end to our shameful behavior?

This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.

Democratic lawmakers need to understand something:

Imagine your house is on fire. Fire truck shows up. Firefighters get out. They look at the fire, then at you, and say: "Such a fire is a grave threat. This house will not sustain."

And just stand there.

This is how many of you are coming across.

If a Democrat fired 100 FAA employees and put a freeze on hiring air traffic controllers 8 days before an airport plane crash, there would be a right-wing and media frenzy for weeks.

I’m not a brilliant political strategist but democrats might want to look at this one. I dunno. Could work? Nah, forget it. A strongly worded email and a fundraising text message should keep this from happening again.
Elon Musk, who has not been elected or officially appointed to any office, successfully pushed the FAA Administrator to resign 9 days ago.

A very good (but incomplete) summary of the shitholes that Trump pardoned and their ongoing legal woes. Two examples: Guy Reffitt is facing illegal silencer charges in TX and Jeremy Roberts was convicted of storing illegal weapons and classified docs in his FL home.
Of Trump’s January 6th pardons, “NPR has identified dozens of defendants with prior convictions or pending charges for crimes including rape, sexual abuse of a minor, domestic violence, manslaughter, production of child sexual abuse material and drug trafficking.” www.npr.org/2025/01/30/n...
Criminal records of Jan. 6 rioters pardoned by Trump include rape, domestic violence
Dozens of Jan. 6 defendants who received pardons from President Trump had past criminal convictions for charges including rape, manslaughter, domestic violence and drug trafficking.

If you’re a federal employee, you should know this is a lie. Congress hasn’t appropriated these monies and so it’s literally not there to be spent. Also, federal agencies are limited by law to a max $25K payout in the case of restructuring.
BREAKING 🚨 🚨 🚨

President Donald Trump's administration is set to offer every single federal worker the chance to take a "deferred resignation" with a severance package of roughly eight months of pay and benefits.

Neil Gorsuch's mother did something very similar in the early 1980s, and replaced them with people hand-picked by polluting industries. But then there was a Democratic Congress, which pushed back fiercely and she ended up being held in contempt of Congress and resigning in disgrace.
BREAKING: Acting @EPA Administrator James Payne has fired the agency's science advisors.

They will be replaced in order to, he says, "ensure that the agency receives scientific advice consistent with its legal obligations to advance our core mission," whatever that means.

I know there’s a lot right now. But folks need to understand what this means.

A suspension this long would mean people living with HIV lose their medicine for months. People around the world lose their PrEP for months, putting millions at risk of getting HIV. Drug-resistant strains could emerge.
