As a journalist, I gave a talk to the men's group of a local synagogue. They told me I should keep any criticism of Israel "in-house." But then they're asking "where are the moderate Muslims?" and I'm like, "I don't know, maybe they're being told to keep their criticism in-house, too?"

It's a stunningly dangerous precedent to censure a member of Congress for speaking up about the mass killing of an ethnic group, who is part of that same ethnic group.

In case you’re wondering why the Dems are so terrible, it’s because they’re paid & controlled by the same people who control the GOP. Why would you support these people if they’re clearly hostile to your interests? If you do, you’re a fool.

Autor, Dube and McGrew show "that a rapid recovery that has brought unemployment near to a 50-year low seems to have empowered lower-wage workers, producing an “unexpected compression” in wage gaps that has eliminated around a quarter of the rise in inequality over the previous four decades."
Great piece by @pkrugman.bsky.social

A combination of market and institutional forces are pushing to (partly) reverse the rise in wage inequality since 1980 by raising workers' real wages, especially bottom and middle.

This kind of dada nonsense is the main reason to social media imo. I was gonna do a “functional parties are all alike, each dysfunctional party…” but someone beat me to it. Salute
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a Republican party no longer in possession of a its senses or values, must be in want of a speaker.

I don't agree with that. If Biden hadn't required an application process, the debt could have been forgiven by fiat, and it would have been up to the court to re-impose it. And if they tried, you have a perfect "Chief Justice Roberts has made his decision, now let him enforce it" situation.
