there's a certain way certain people write fiction about disability that really sets my teeth on edge, and it's an approach that I can only describe as 'educational hugboxing'

in this, portrayal of disability must be constantly affirming, and it must use specific and correct terminology

I would also like to plug my favorite Christmas tradition, the Lobster Nativity, which asks: what if every participant in Jesus’ birth were a lobster? Mary? Lobster. Wise Men? Lobsters. Sheep? Lobsters. Camel? Lobster. Everyone is a lobster and nothing hurts lobsternativityscene.com
Lobster Nativity Scene
Lobster Nativity Scene is the perfect gift for Christmas! These lobsters have formed a Nativity scene to bring you joy and gratitude. They are one of a kind, and each lobster holds their own story of ...

Hey if you want to tell Out Magazine that this is likely going to cause AO3 authors to get doxxed and harassed and that they should pull this article down, write to their tip and editorial correction line, which is [email protected] which is their parent company's domain name.

People are harshing on some “diverse reading challenge” thing that’s going around, and I get it, but looking at what you read and asking yourself “what isn’t represented here?” is imo a good and healthy practice

Ötzi and a 45,000-year-old Siberian were both infected with a cancer-causing strain of HPV.
This is fascinating, and a reminder that we have a vaccine that *prevents cancer* and everyone eligible should get it.
Two ancient humans, including famed ‘Iceman,’ had cancer-causing virus
Findings from ancient DNA may shed light on HPV’s history in our species

it's Christmas Eve but it's also the 16 year anniversary of the time an art historian for the Hungarian National Gallery spotted a long lost painting while watching Stuart Little with his 3-year-old daughter, recognizing it in the movie set

My Odyssey joke contribution is about how weird it must have been for his crewmates for the two years they stayed on an island so the captain could fuck a nymph witch.
"What a huge catch, Lycaon. Where did you get this?"
"Alkimos! Poseidon blessed me today. I-"
[Circe and Odysseus can be heard moaning on the other side of the wall]
"I use a fly lure-"
[Pots break and dust flies off the wall]
"I said-"

Your yearly reminder that St. Nicholas is the patron saint of sx workers. How did he help sx workers? Not with punishment, but with bags of gold coins.

Be like St. Nicholas: instead of supporting policing, give your money to wh*res 💰💰💰

Essential thread
You are painting a vision of a future in which teachers create lessons with "A.i.," students complete them with "A.i.," and teachers grade them with "A.i."

No learning takes place under this system.

The only benefactors of this system are the corporations being paid for the "A.i." products.

listening to the OBC now and i stand by this opinion. release the gerianne cut
ok well im glad we got the understudies bc i can't fathom how anyone, even the originator of the role, could possibly give a better Monty than Gerianne Pérez did
intermission at operation mincemeat! it's great so far although the two biggest roles are both understudies tonight, but they're both good and one is REALLY good so that's fine. this happens to me a lot, probably bc i almost never see shows on the weekend
