lumines arise is one of the best games I've played all year; it's rare we get legacy sequels that legitimately move the original engine forward. despite being lukewarm on tetris effect, the way arise leverages both the unique audiovisual concept and the meter mechanics really shines. link below!

Unfortunately, we have to delay Layer 8: FRAUD to early next year. We underestimated the workload of our very ambitious plans, so we had to either compromise on the vision or delay it, and we want to make sure the last stretch is the best it can be.

I actually am sure I didn't play anything from 2016 in 2016 but current favourite would be Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, one of the coolest takes on isometric stealth games which mimimi games (RIP) kept iterating on in subsequent games
