The ICE agent who shot Marimar Martinez in Chicago tried to goad her out of her car.

He said “do something b*tch” and shot her 5 times.

The ICE agent who shot Nicole Renee Good did the same thing. Stood right in front of her vehicle and yelled “f*cking bitch”.

They hate women & it shows.

40 years of seeing movies in theaters - the hype around the prequels, Lord Of The Rings, the MCU - and still the biggest audience cheer I've ever witnessed was when they blew up the White House in Independence Day.

I feel this deeply to be true.
Often anxiety and depression are seen as a personal failure or a sign of spiritual immaturity. Nichiren teacher Mark Herrick seeks to reframe these afflictions as evidence of interdependence: we are intimately and inevitably affected by the world’s suffering.

The Bodhisattva’s Illness and the World’s Cure
A Nichiren teacher invokes the Vimalakirti Sutra in a reflection on using one’s suffering as a means of liberation.

I'm going to point this out from time to time because a lot of you need reminding apparently.

Absent some sort of truly life-shattering, intervening experience (death of child, near death experience, escape from torture, surviving a life-threatening illness etc.) people don't spontaneously change.

The Mayor of London has told me in public just now he supports scrapping the two child benefit cap - when the Chancellor can afford to do so.

I asked him if he'd support a wealth tax on assets - and he refused to answer the question.
