As light fades, it sculpts our world, elevates it into the sublime. Namibia's dunes are transformed into a magical combination of shapes and textures and, wind, the final touch, lifts sand into the light.

Such a beautifully written and deeply human piece. Should have been on the front page. The censorship by SMH is extremely disturbing.
On Wednesday the Sydney Morning Herald published an opinion piece by Cumberland City councillor Ahmed Ouf about Muslim-Jewish solidarity in the wake of Bondi.

The piece was quickly taken down.

We're publishing it here in full.

This article mentions two things we rarely see in mainstream media:

- a significant number of Australian Jews oppose Israel's apartheid & genocide.

- if the nation is looking for enhanced social cohesion after the Bondi massacre, alliances between Jews, Palestinians & Muslims are a great example.

Public safety is a duty of government, not a stage for moral performance. Protection works best when it is even-handed, institutional and resistant to factional pressure, writes Sasha Klumov Attard.

A defence of 'doing nothing'
Public safety can be strengthened without turning fear into a political performance. When protection becomes theatre, institutions weaken and social division deepens.

I totally agree with the Jewish Council here.

I will continually speak out against the Netanyahu Govt’s killing of 20,000 innocent children in Gaza.

That appalling action has caused so much anti-semitism around the world.
