Every day Mamdani comes out and is like "hey guys, I turned off the orphan-crushing machine. Literally just had to flip a switch. Took less than 5 minutes."

After decades of dem leadership pissing and moaning and fundraising about how complex an issue it is and how difficult the process is etc

As a principled libertarian, I believe that anyone who doesn't immediately do what ICE says should be shot dead. And as a principled states' rights advocate, I believe that the federal government should not allow states to prosecute these shootings.

There's a 50 percent chance Oregon blows JMU out, but if that doesn't happen, and Oregon allows them to hang around, it could be the first Tourney-style upset of the Expanded CFP era.

How do we ascertain the intentions of the ratifying public? Well, there's millions of them, and they didn't all get together and talk about it. So we use "original public meaning." Basically the text, as it would have been understood by an ordinary educated layperson in 1787, is the guide

The fact that 12% of federal judges are Black shows the corruption of DEI. The fact that 67% of Supreme Court Justices belong to a small legal cult called the Federalist Society shows the power of meritocracy.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

Every liberal democratic voter should see the way the Mamdani and Trump spoke and how Mamdani, never having to compromise his positions, was able to get Trump to agree with him.

Thats what left-wing populism can do and it’s the direction the Democratic Party must go.

woke's not dead 2 is about a high school teacher who does not disclose to her administrators that a student of hers came out to her as trans even though that's the school policy. ray wise plays a lawyer who is obsessed with the idea that there are human-sized litter boxes in the school bathroom.
Praying this gets a sequel 🙏

Remember when the Supreme Court gave a pass to a state that created a private right of action crafted with the purpose of evading federal law and judicial review?

States should experiment with a similar law to allow damages actions against federal agents in state court.

That'll go over well.

My general belief is that Dems need to spend more time thinking about what they believe and less about what they think some imaginary swing voters want them to believe.

Political strategy will stem from an authentic set of beliefs.
This was revealing. Worth reading. The basic demand is that Coates spend less time thinking/writing his true feelings and more time playing political strategist. Klein asks him over and over him to do Dem strategy; he says no, over and over. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/28/o...
