Cats, crafts, plants, horrors. Now with school ranting. Whatever you're expecting, it's probably more boring than that
It's a bit grey today, but I really enjoyed my walk

Tubi has given me some kind of Steven Seagal-produced cop procedural (I also think maybe that was him in it too?), yeah, it's going about exactly as this expect a Seagal written/executive produced cop procedural to go.

I'm legit terrified about how badly we're going to respond to the next pandemic
Everyone involved in the publication and promotion of this book should be embarrassed. It's not a "harsh truth" that COVID mitigation was a mistake, it's ghoulish and false.

I don't know about the pie this year. I'm addition to not having the mace, I had to can the apples because I ran out of space in the freezer, I didn't have any fresh nuts so I used the boozy pecans, they were out of the perry cider I use so I only had hard cider, the whiskey is old, just like.

Well, the pies aren't going to have mace in them. I'm so angry at myself. I've been to the store for pie supplies three times this week and didn't realize I was out until now. And there's no way in hell I'm going to the store on Christmas Eve.

Thanks for sharing this document, @rweingarten.bsky.social.

I read it, and I believe it's inexcusably inadequate and will not prepare teachers or schools to confront the very real dangers of the "A.i." products pushed by your partners, including OpenAI.

A few thoughts for your consideration...

The point of writing crap is not that you should barf out anything.

It's that you should be aware as you are writing it what the flaws are, and you need to get through it the first time, because the act of doing so informs you what is wrong.

The act of writing is *thinking*. If you do not allow yourself to think thoughts that feel wrong, you will never get a feel for what feels *right*.

My summary of Trump's loss in the National Guard case: If Trump wants to attack chicago, he's gotta send the Army *first* then say that the Army can't get it done... but first he has to prove that the Army is allowed to go in, without violating Posse Comitatus.

It’s pretty sinister. The companies behind dating apps expressly don’t want users to find long-term relationships. If we find love, we use the apps less AND give them less of our data. 👀
I forgot most of these dating apps are pay to play. Capitalism gon have everybody lonely lmao

I about lost my mind when a celebrity was like "yeah my 10M house had lost value and clearly wasn't a good investment anymore, so I just gave it back to the bank." He just... Walked away.

It's not working class people tanking markets.
We have a saying in Spain, something like: "If you owe ten thousand to the bank, you got a problem. If you owe ten million, the bank has a problem".

They have made enormous headway. The central issue is that driving isn't _really_ a rule-based process; the rules are codifications of social mores but fundamentally driving around other people is about theory of mind and social negotiation, which ML is largely hopeless at; here's a thing I wrote.

I'm gonna be real: many many times when I've watched a sexy TV show and gone "oh wow, this is being surprisingly normal and positive about sex!" I later found out it was a Canadian production.

I have *never* thought that about HBO. If I'm uncomfortable and sad, I check to see if it's HBO.
Heated Rivalry is a Crave production, from Canada. HBO is just a distributor. I really wish people would stop attributing anything in the production of this show to HBO.
Sounds like this set was run how they all should be. HBO once again leading the industry in intimacy directing.
