I'm strangely calm, and just feel worn out. It's just like "Ah, so that's how it is."
Like in spite of how costly and difficult it is going to be, it's almost comforting knowing with certainty "This is too broken to fix. We'll have to replace it."

I visited ANC on 2/28/25. They were holding an event at the Women's Service Memorial to honor veterans.
Every. Single. Worker. I met (guards, guides, etc.) was Black and most of them were female.
It is our nation's most sacred shrine & it is protected almost exclusively by Black civil servants.
