Anyway back in high school I was in a magnet program that used to admit 50% boys and 50% girls.
Right before my year, parents of boys complained and demanded strict merit-based admission.

speaking from personal experience the reason the PRC is Like That is for very simplistic reasons the generation that knew true horror is one generation after the one in the USA and happen to be the ones running the show right now. they’ve got their heads on straight still
In a loose folksy way I’ve started to believe that shit falls apart approximately every 80 years because the generation that knew True Horror dies off and the young folks left don’t comprehend the stakes.
I blame the passing of the WW2 generation. Some people didn't have a grandparent who would kick their ass for talking up Nazis and it shows.
