I hope congressional Dems don’t think that by capitulating to Trump it’ll stop him from trying to fire federal workers or cut back on funding for things like green energy projects. He was always going to punish blue states and go after Dem priorities. The shutdown is just one excuse

Lots of transit news from BART director Victor Flores - including that the BART board has voted to use standard gauge for the 2nd set of transbay tubes.

This will open up the option for Caltrain, High Speed Rail, and Amtrak to cross between downtown San Francisco and the East Bay in the future.

This is amazing news! A lot of work went into crafting a bill that met the needs of five counties and multiple stakeholders. At BART we’ve been working to become safer and cleaner to bring back riders. We have a lot of work to do but we can survive to met our commitments without this funding

SB 63 is headed to the Governor's desk. It is a historic opportunity to allow voters in 5 counties of the Bay Area to consider a sales tax measure in Nov 2026 to preserve and improve transit. BART, and the entire transit network that keeps the Bay Area moving, stand to benefit from this bill.

SB 105 directs the Dept of Finance to work in consultation with CalSTA to examine loan or other financing options for agencies, with the goal to complete this work by 1/10/26 allowing for proposals to be included in the Governor’s FY27 Budget and legislative action in early 2026.
