They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

This is what makes it personal. It's not just my work that has been stolen, but that of all of my friends who do creative work. Every artist, writer, designer, musician has had their work stolen and their ability to work targeted in this way.

That's on TOP of the hundreds of other reasons.
If some guy stole my shit and made millions off it while wiping out my job prospects, and you, as my friend, bought that guy's cheap mass market replica of my shit, you and i would for obvious reasons have a problem. It being a massive company, not a guy, actually makes it even more of a problem.

Like, the previous passage, about the lobster-grilled-cheese-sandwich, really only works if there’s a witty kicker.

Otherwise we’re on page 36 and you’re already just filling space mentioning that one time you found someone else’s lunch order to be unmemorable.

Nuzzi doesn’t do witty kickers.

New York City went 12 days without a murder in November / December. That's tied for the longest stretch in history, according to the NYPD. As someone who was here when there were 6+ murders per day in this town, it continues to amaze me how safe the place is.

404 Media is making a print zine about the surveillance tactics used by ICE, and how people are resisting this tech.

Why? Print media is cool. Also, 404 Media has watched ICE grow from an already horrifying organization into a deportation force that is better funded than most militaries.

lmao they put the World Cup in America and now it's got commercial breaks.
News: Every 2026 World Cup match will feature two "hydration breaks," no matter the weather.

Each half will pause for exactly three minutes midway through.

It's a player welfare measure. It also has sporting & commercial implications.

More @theathleticfc.bsky.social:
2026 World Cup to feature three-minute hydration breaks in every half throughout tournament
Every game will pause for three minutes in the middle of each half, which will essentially split the match into quarters.
