The radical centrist 'popularist' crowd would have also advocated against integration.
We're ruled by people in all three branches of government and across the tech/corporate landscape who think it's bad that this happened and wish the mob had prevailed, plain and simple. It's clarifying.

there is one and only one political strategy, and that is: “hang trump like an anchor around the neck of every single elected republican and the party itself.” no ‘friends across the aisle.’ no ‘the fever will break.’ anyone not on board with that has to go. no exceptions

I suspect that the political failures of Bidenomics (POLITICAL failures, mind you, not ECONOMIC) is pretty conclusive proof that in the 2020s, American voters regard themselves first and foremost as consumers, not as workers.

In the summer of 1950 most US newspapers ran an AP story about how race had become the main issue in the upcoming Georgia governor's race. Segregationist Herman Tallmadge, governor from '47 to '55 and then a Senator until 1981 made a name for himself by refusing to "apologize for being a white man."

I've surveyed the political scene and in my expert judgment the voters hunger for candidates who are sniveling little weasels who don't believe in anything

Quick question what the fuck was Merrick Garland doing for four years
NYT: “In a newly obtained recording of a phone call from late 2020, President Trump can be heard pressing the speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives to hold a special legislative session to overturn Mr. Trump’s election loss.”

French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations.

All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin

The Bondi mass shooting would have been a lot worse if not for Aussie gun regulations—which if anything aren’t strict enough.

Looking at the Ahmed al Ahmed video, I was definitely thinking, "pop him in the leg or something," but that's super easy for me to say. And, as noted in the comments, being a middle-eastern guy firing a gun in the middle of a shooting as the police are closing in is certainly an unenviable spot.
yikes. seems like in both this and the other case bystanders would have been wise to use the gun

“A most notable coward, an infinite and endless liar, an hourly promise breaker, the owner of no one good quality.” It's genuinely quite amazing that this man does not seem to enjoy a single thing in the world except fawning praise.
Virginia Heffernan wrote this shortly after the 2016 election and it still holds true

First, you're not going to win arguments on the Internet.

Second, you have to understand how Musk has his thumb on the scale. Please. It's basic tech company ops 101 in 2025.

Third, stop blaming liberals - or a liberal void - for the right's depravity. They have agency. They choose to be awful.
