nolan's odyssey is gonna be quite the cinematic experience where under the same roof you'll have nolan fans, mythology fans, and a gathering of epic the musical fans going off whenever 600 men are mentioned and you have a whole new chicken jockey situation on your hands XD

For years I have been begging friends and family to not use Honey, either as a creator or a customer, and gotten waved off as "being paranoid." I'm happy that other folks out there have noticed the same red flags and are using their much larger platform to hopefully save y'all a lot of grief 😬

Never seen this so devastatingly and lucidly articulated.
Essentially, I think that LLM-generated dialogue only makes sense if you believe that the product of writing is words.

But the product of writing isn't words, any more than the product of justice is prisoners, or the product of love is weddings. The product of writing is meaning.
I had five fascinating conversations for this RPS piece, gathering perspectives on genAI chatbots in games, as seen in Where Winds Meet. Thanks to @meghna.bsky.social, @pyrofoux.bsky.social, @maxkreminski.bsky.social, and @chrisgardiner.bsky.social www.rockpapershotgun.com/horrible-bor...

I wish we could explain to small children that some day, getting in bed and going to sleep will become the highlight of their lives.

Exactly.

If estrangement is growing, maybe don't blame the children and ask about the parenting.

But either way, 'no contact' is a perfectly cromulent strategy when dealing with people who have a lot of psychological power over you, but don't treat you well.

Found family is fine.
Yeah, no thanks.

Stop guilting people about being estranged from family members. It someone is they likely have personal reasons for being so.

A true warrior is not too proud to express gratitude. Indeed, acknowledging when you have been helped, when others have shared with you, is essential to an honorable life. I am grateful to have spent another day with you, those who make my days lighter and more hopeful. Thank you.

Oh, look, it's Shadowrun.
With the 60 minutes leak, the many recent Epstein releases, etc., I think we are seeing the future of government accountability under authoritarianism:

Leaks, hacks, data dumps, releases of big document caches.

Journalists and the public will have to learn how to digest this stuff. 🧵

1/5 Seeing some tech/ai slop accounts online claiming that AI has always been used in games, pretending GenAi is a part of that, when its absolutely not.

Yes, AI has always been a part of games in: NPC behaviors, Data Mining, PCG’s (Procedural Content Generation) etc

All different from GenAi!

Ok, I see the #ttrpg discourse on non-western cultures in game is going around some again. Just because some people do a crap job on Asian themed/inspired stuff, doesn't mean you have to denigrate the idea. Yeah, a lot of previous work has been way problematic or pretty monotoned in its depiction.
