"In theater" is a military term that refers to a wartime theater of operations. ICE and CBP agents are in Minnesota, which is one of the United States. The enemy in this military operation are citizens of Minnesotans and the United States.
Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

H2A workers aren't as cheap as undocumented, but they're WAY easier to control.

Because they can't quit. They have their passport w them (so you can take it).

And all that vetting & background checks at the border means you know exactly who workers are, & can threaten their family back home.

“Abolish ICE” isn’t even the center position anymore, it’s the center-right position.
YouGov is out with a new poll after ICE killed another person in Minnesota today. Abolishing ICE is now +5 among all adults, and **+12 among independents**

You walk into this bar and show your ICE mugshot, you don't pay a dime.
Scrolling through the photos of Pam Bondi's "Minnesota rioters," it's just hero after hero. Every photo includes a cowardly DHS agent with their back to the camera.

Bondi thinks she's going to win the propaganda war with this shit, but it's never been more clear that they're losing.

If you work for ICE, quit now.

Your chances for future employment, meaningful friendships, and frankly, not getting shanked in prison are already pretty slim, but if you quit RIGHT NOW you might avoid the worst of what is coming.

Especially if you blow some whistles, and then testify.

Never forget that the reason they are so convinced you’re all getting paid is that they are all getting paid.
The fact that every right winger with influence screams "who is paying for all of this" tells you exactly how awash in cash they all are, and how much they rely on that to keep their movement afloat.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

As the son of a man who as a teenager had to hide in an attic to avoid capture by the Nazis: Every word of this thread. Every word.

And this is what I would say to them if I were face to face with them right now: Sooner or later, you will all be going to jail for what you're doing.
I look forward to the establishment of a Wiesenthal Center-like organization dedicated to identifying and hunting former DHS agents so that they may be held accountable.

Depuis un an et son retour à la Maison Blanche, la police migratoire est devenu l’appareil répressif principal de Donald Trump. Et ses récentes bavures à Minneapolis témoigne de son caractère éminemment politique.

and the violence is a kind of proof that they do not have sufficient power
the answer to “why are you trying to intimidate and scare me?” is always “because they can’t just do the thing.”

an individual may revel in the bullying itself, but no SYSTEM would waste the time and energy if they could just… do it

it’s a low-power method of control

For those unfamiliar, in On Violence, Arendt points out that the ability to dish out violence is often confused for power - the ability to get compliance without violence.

Successful governance relies almost entirely on power, because violence is expensive and limited.

If you set up a FB group to coordinate mobile patrols of legal observers, FB would probably shut it down. Signal won't. That's the reason to use Signal, not because it's magically free of feds.
I need people who don’t live in the Twin Cities to stop telling people not to join massive Signal groups right now. People are doing it. They’re going to keep doing it. Give them good advice about it.

The actually practical advice is don’t say anything to 1000 strangers you wouldn’t say in public

After ICE agents shot people in Minneapolis tonight, a crowd faced them down and eventually chased them away, despite federal mercenaries and police shooting a tremendous amount of tear gas.

ICE agents abandoned vehicles in the area, containing IDs, paperwork, license plates, and operational plans.

The thing that really makes Minneapolis different, other than the fact that they straight up murdered someone, is that they've dropped all pretense that this is just about immigration. The state has declared war on its own people, or at least those people who live in cities.

ICE agents love to wave around paper that looks official. Most of it is a scam — administrative forms signed by ICE supervisors, not real judicial warrants signed by judges. Let's go through what that scam paper looks like versus a real judicial warrant.

All of this is academic in light of the appalling, unspeakable crimes committed by ICE. The entire force should be disbanded, defunded, and dismantled all the way down to the picatinny rails. And any organizational immunity to crimes they've committed should be stripped away so they can be tried.

So to return to this: Mussolini had 200,000 blackshirts for the March on Rome in a country of ~35m. Hitler had 400,000 brownshirts in 1932 in Germany for a population of ~60m.

So around 0.6% of the population.

0.6% of 340m Americans is just over 2 million.

They do not have enough goons.
In 1932, on the eve of seizing power, the Nazi goon army - the Sturmabteiling or SA - numbered 400,000 members. By 1933, it was over two *million.*

DHS has 240,00 employees and lot of those are non-goons who have, you know, real jobs.
