Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, offices felt like relics of the past. Now, companies are enforcing return-to-office mandates that don’t seem to make sense for employer or employee—at least on the surface. Writer Kathy Chow investigates: thewalrus.ca/return-to-office...

This report says we are out of touch, secretive and come across as elitist snobs. Better hide it from those fucking slobbering morons or else we'll lose.
BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

I'm sorry, are you saying that taking money out of an already underfunded system and giving it to a private entity that mainly benefits the already wealthy, only caused more problems?
Arizona, the model for voucher programs across the country, spent so much money paying private schoolers’ tuition that it faced hundreds of millions in budget cuts to critical state programs and projects last year.

School Vouchers Were Supposed to Save Taxpayer Money. Instead They Blew a Massive Hole in Arizona’s Budget.

"You're honor, how could I be charged with murder? For you see, the victim is already dead, it cannot be undone. Has for improper handling of a corpse, he is still in my basement, so that has not occurred yet. Case closed!"
These people need a kick in the nuts.

"Plaintiff’s claims concerning demolition of the East Wing are moot because the demolition has already occurred and cannot be undone. As for future construction, Plaintiff’s claims are unripe because plans are not final."

Hello friends, I recently lost my health insurance + benefits & am currently looking at a bill of over $16,000 for which I cannot pay. This would not necessarily be an issue if I were not visually impaired and currently out of full time work, but I am humbly asking for assistance now. Any bit helps.

B5 is a testimate of how a good story can overcome a low budget.
babylon 5 is cheesy and dorky sometimes, and then sometimes they make a choice like having a news anchor break down and cry when going on air after a fascist leader is killed because they get to deliver their first uncensored broadcast in a long time and you're like goddamn

Most people who have insurance have to do all this shit anyway. My health plan costs my employer something like 1200 a month, 14400 annually. So nearly double what Norway spends on each of their citizens for healthcare. So... seems like we could figure out the cost.
For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates.

What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ?

Who in the USA gov runs the program?

R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

it's so wild to remember two decades of lectures that Dem leadership knows how to realistically get things done and all of the left things we want are silly fantasies, and then watch everyone finally catch on that actually Dem leadership is dumb as shit and leftist stuff is the only way forward

In America there are two political parties. Republicans who used to be for small government but now just represent the wealthy and the democrats who also represent the wealthy and sometimes, maybe, if they get around to it, everyone else.

Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."
