trans women get thrown in men's prisons through intentionally contradictory legal and informal social regimes (policed and illegalized as women, i.e. their value as people weighed against femaleness as all women are, but placed with men as 'dolls for all men') b/c they are deliberately designated targets for mass rape and prostitution both within and outside of prisons. this process is a necessary way patriarchy keeps everyone in line, and is a central mechanism of the social-reproduction of the gendered regime, through criminalization and racialization. the reason trans women (the position generated by this process of transmisogyny) are the lightning rod for this is because the violation and disposability of the trans woman, a woman-thing who cannot return to man but cannot be regendered into femaleness b/c she is insufficiently female (cannot produce children, but has a body that is treated as doubly-sexed, a chick with a dick (regardless of whether she has one), a walking fetish who "always wants sex"), acts as the limit point for sexual difference. thus, her violation and disposability maintains the misogynistic force of heterosexual sexual difference, by being that which all others are weighed against - nobody wants to be mistaken for the trans woman, "the tranny", not even trans women themselves, for the violence it entails. every attempt by reactionaries to claim someone is a trans woman is never a mistake but a deliberate threat, and while everyone may get this but find ways to "disprove it" and differentiate themselves from the trans woman, only the trans woman has nothing to "fall back on" to prove her legitimacy.

As a pornographer myself, I feel... weird about creators who make distinctions between porn and other adult/sexual content. If you defend porn, your work will ALSO be defended. Don't be afraid to get down in the mud with us. You're gonna end up here anyway.

there is plenty of sexual content on steam. the problem isn't that valve is denying sexual content (though, as a near-monopoly, that would also be a problem) it's that valve is denying specifically sexual content that is non-pornographic, most notably in the horror genre.

The content in Horses is sexual and well within Valve's right to say it violates their sexual content policies.

Horses has every right to exist. Valve has every right not to distribute it.

To be clear, this is just as bad as the Amazon AI dub thing. Not as much to meme about, but definitely just as bad. Remember when YouTube switched over to AI closed captions, removed the options for creators to provide their own, and then they all got immediately worse forever? This is like that.

After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!

leave innane/positive comments on their videos. The algo is all fucked up for YT creators and a lot of videos get sent to the void for whatever reason.

My mum's done over 38 years for GirlGuiding. A Queen's Guide, she ran Brownie troupes, was a commissioner, even had her Brownie troupe at her wedding.

Tonight, bc of this decision, she has requested immediate removal of her membership because she stands with ALL women and girls, not just cis ones.

Just because Prime Video quietly walked back its AI Beta for anime doesn't mean we should let bygones be bygones. Keep that energy.
To illustrate how much of a non-issue an official production of an English dub for Banana Fish—something not uncommon with anime, especially if they're newly licensed on a new streaming platform—would've run Prime Video roughly $125-$150 an hour per session, even through SAG-AFTRA Union rates. Basically, this is peanuts compared to what the show has already burned through on content mill-brained titles like Beast Games. But, like everything fueling the AI bubble, companies still compete to out unga bunga each other to make even better ways to boil the ocean to make shit no one wants. Prime Video didn't even opt for the tried and true method of asking for forgiveness instead of permission; Instead, they are apparently playing this nine-month initiative as an oopsie that it hopes will blow over while people flock to Cyber Monday deals. Time will tell if that cowardly gambit pays off, but history shows it has worked for other streamers, and we shouldn't let it continue.

I think Demonschool is a good video game but I think Brandon’s approach to how staff worked together and were credited REALLY deserves a lot of attention. Video game crediting is a stupid black box and transparency will help average people understand these roles.
