stupid zomfie. he/him. Repeal the Second Amendment. Israeli control of and settlements in Gaza and the West Bank must be destroyed. Russia out of Ukraine. Netanyahu and Putin to the Hague. 擒賊擒王。

I think this supports my assertion that Democrats ought to be trying to inspire and motivate people who didn't bother to vote rather than worrying about the "swing voters" (i.e. idiots and arseholes) who voted for Trump.

Ask yourself why the first group stayed home, not how you can turn the right.
Never seen it framed this way by all recent elections

i was supposed to pick vanilla ice up at the airport one time and was told in no uncertain terms that i was only to call him Mr van winke, his real name being something I hadn’t heard about before, and I laughed so hard they had someone else do it.

I remember reading it said by an expert that when russia's legal system started ruling for putin in cases like this, russia was done

and that that's how we can know whether we'll make it through this with some sort of freedom, or if we're doomed until a revolution rises

A Hampton Inn in Asheville just canceled my family's reservation because our address (incorrectly) showed Asheville—and the hotel bars locals within 50 miles.

When I asked why, they said, "because of our homeless population," adding that most hotels here have similar policies.

This is outrageous.

So if you're a family evicted from your apartment, or a mother fleeing domestic violence with her children, or someone unhoused trying to get off the street or out of their car for a night... you're not allowed to stay at these Asheville hotels.

Just unabashed discrimination.

Guys no billionaire is "leaving California," they're at best gonna leave California for exactly 185 days a year and domicile at some mansion resort in Utah or Montana or USVI but still be in California a lot (but also this will be too big of a hassle for many and they'll just pay the tax)

instead of running a popular campaign that people want to support, you should be online telling people to drink bleach and that the economy is really really good. literally everyone knows this is how you win

We’ve found it, folks, the ultimate form of fetishism of American oppression. Poor Americans simply have no choice but to become fascist thugs, for the benefits.
that choice was made in a system that provides few jobs that pay well with benefits, respect & opportunity to those who don't hale from society's "upper crust."

How many would choose to work at ICE or the military if they had better job opportunities that didn't require them to mete out torture?

We didn't survive and thrive as a species because we had warriors or hunters - pretty much every omnivore can manage that.

We did so because we developed Grandmothers, and domesticated Dogs.

Community is what defines us as a species, and every "self-reliant" libertarian shitweasel be damned.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Realised I didn't clearly state, although it's obvious - this is cheap, opportunist politics. An illusion of tough on crime, rather than real solutions (because those are complex and don't lead to the centre/centre-right electorate voting for you). Make no mistake, Minns will campaign HARD off this

The Colt M4 Carbine issued to police has an effective range of 500m, but in real world use (as opposed to a shooting range), it is more likely to be a 250-300m range. If you are walking around the harbour at NYE and only see a cop every 500m or so, I'd be very surprised. It will look scarier, though

Carrying long arm rifles for show seems absurd - given the level of policing of the area (and no doubt the use of police snipers in the area), the rifles are going to slightly limit officer mobility, and there is likely to be an officer within that 50m range of an offender.

NSW Police carry, as part of their standard kit, a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol, with an effective firing range of 50m - versatile enough for the purposes of policing, particularly in a densely crowded space like Sydney Harbour at NYE.

Every single thing Minns is doing in response to this is fucking terrible.
Meanwhile, Albo is copping flak, and while I'm not a fan, I will never complain about tightening gun laws.
Seccys with guns is a fucking disaster waiting to happen. Cops with rifles - good grief.

Same but "not great" instead of "fine". I wish Jim Cameron could just make an Attenborough-style documentary about Pandora and leave the actors out of it.
here's my groundbreaking take on avatar: i don't really care. i saw the first one and it was fine i guess. i don't really care to see any of the sequels but if you're having fun that's fine
