Talking during movies isn’t just rude, it’s the mark of a deranged sicko and a nation in decline. Disruptive theatergoers should be sent to live on an island with the people who yell at bands like they’re best friends and the people who refuse to use headphones in public.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Theatergoers worry about looming Broadway strike: ‘NY is nothing without Broadway’
Theatergoers are worried the lights may go out on Broadway a threat of a theater strike looms. Two powerful labor unions representing Broadway performers, musicians and stage managers have authorized a walkout in a contract dispute with theater owners, and theater patrons aren’t too thrilled. "New York is nothing without Broadway: you can't get this...

‘Paranormal Activity,’ making its North American premiere in Chicago, aims to give theatergoers a good scare
Written by Chicagoan Levi Holloway, the play is based on the award-winning film series of the same name, which was notable in its era for trailers showing test audiences watching the movie, visibly horrified.

Saying the play isn't for "thoughtful or educated theatergoers" and it's about Waiting For Godot is the funniest thing I've read in my life. I got something out of it when I was 15. Most educated theatregoers get a TON out of WfG. This is so painful to read

Bill Condon Knows You All Love Musicals (Even If You Won’t Admit It)
As a master of the movie musical, Bill Condon knows a certain truth about theatergoers. “Secretly, people love it. They love musicals, but they have to be permitted,” says Condon, who has brought to screen such titles as Dreamgirls and Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. The writer and director has become one of the go-tos of the musical movie genre, having also written the screenplay for the acclaimed musical Chicago. But his work spans categories, with dramas including Kinsey, starring Liam Neeson and Laura Linney, and the Ian McKellen starrer…

Kimmel, Kirk and Queer Theater. Stageworthy News of the Week
No, theatergoers do not have the Constitutional right to shout “Fire” in a crowded theater. But theater artists can still present queer characters on stage without losing their government grants. That’s what a federal judge ruled this week, on behalf of National Queer Theater and three other arts organizations, declaring unconstitutional a new policy by the National Endowment for the Arts that rejected grant applicants who “promote gender ideology,” whatever that means. The new policy “violates the First Amendment,” Judge William E. Smith wrote, because it “promises to penalize artists based on their speech.”

Movie Theaters should invest in a small basket of Tomatoes to be given to every attendant. When another moviegoer begins talking or being disruptive during the movie, the theatergoers are all allowed to individually take one tomato, and hammerhand it as hard as they desire into their face 🤣

Art Broadway Reviews
The verdict on the Broadway revival of "Art" starring Neil Patrick Harris, Bobby Cannvale and James Corden as three friends who argue about art ranges from "clever and engaging" to "boring beyond belief" from regular theatergoers in the chat rooms. With the play opening tonight, what do the invited professional critics have to say? The story of Yasmina Reza's 1994 play is "slender but amusing," one of them says below. Neil Patrick Harris as Serge buys an expensive all-white painting, which outrages Bobby Cannavale as his friend Marc, while James Corden as Yvan tries to serve as peacemaker to his two friends, which irritates both of them.

The Cast’s The Thing. Stageworthy News of the Week
In my Broadway Poll about the Fall show theatergoers are most looking forward to, I added a second question: What's the biggest reason for your choice? Forty percent answered: "The cast" -- far more than any other reason. (Second choice, with just 15 percent: "I saw it before.") The cast is the chief (but not the only) reason for the poll's two top choices, "Chess" and "Ragtime," each getting about a quarter of the vote. A new starry cast is what keeps some shows going (See "Chicago"), although it doesn't always work.
