hello! my name is Cos and i'm just some agender weirdo pushing 40. i'm into photography & #lomography, #art (fuck AI), music, sci fi and video games (esp sci fi).

i'm very mental, very neurodivergent, chronically ill and spend most of my days managing my symptoms. see my link in bio for more!

it's hard to get out of that mindset. my pain is greater than anything else. it's good to talk to other people feeling that exact same pain. solidarity.

i was just talking to my sister's boyfriend and thinking about how grief lends itself so easily to solipsism. the pain and hurt is so massive that i can only imagine it happening to me. i'm the only person in the universe and it sucks the whole time. and it's just not true, EVERYONE is hurting.

it's a long held class system priority:

the lower classes are for working.

any of them not doing that are definitely getting away with something

(for lower classes it's literally anyone not royal/noble/generationally wealthy)

obviously there's a lot of problems with child labor, but it's too valuable for big business for it to ever go away, so you need to embrace it early or your kids' resumes will be left in the dust

“white working class” is an inherently reactionary concept. it takes working-class issues - which apply to all working-class people - and turns them into white racial issues, which erases working-class POC and only divides working people.

Scotland generates huge amounts of cheap, clean electricity from renewables. That isn't reflected in our bills though, because the UK's energy system is rigged in favour of the corporations who control it, not the people who need it.

The Chancellor says she 'fixed' a problem caused by “some snails or something”.

Comments like this pit nature against growth – it’s the wrong target.

Here, the system has worked: protecting one of UK’s rarest species while allowing 20,000 homes to proceed.

it's fair, there are a looooot of drawbacks. and if the thing worked as advertised, without "hallucinations" and blatantly wrong information, mitigating those drawbacks could make me interested. until that point, however, i'm firmly a luddite (in the classic sense of the word)

i guess? honestly ethics when it comes to theft and plagiarism are one thing, the ethics of burning down the planet to power massive data centres and polluting small towns while they're at it is another.

George Miller, 80, easily able to coast out the rest of his life and affirm his legacy as an old school filmmaker who stayed relevant and made shit that lasted in and compelled the culture for the better part of 50 years, absolute optimal goals for any artist, is getting into the slop game
