if the elite pedos are doing eyes wide shut parties I now believe it's because they saw the movie and thought that looked cool, rather than the reverse of the movie being inspired by them.

In our conservative estimate, 41 percent of Grok’s images — or 1.8 million — were sexualized depictions of women. Separately, CCDH analyzed how many were sexualized images across genders and ages. Their findings: an estimated 3 million images, including more than 23,000 of children.

I am going to be honest, this guy needs to be putting some of this into therapy instead of into writing. I find most of his stuff thought-terminating existential dread instead of actually working on strategy and structure to make positive change.

When you're at the "functionally infinite money" income bracket your value heuristic changes to value things you can't get normally with money, which includes a lot of things deemed immoral and/or illegal

It's no surprise that Big Tech looks the other way w/r/t CSAM unless called out

it is rational behavior once you realize that the marginal value of a billion and one dollars is actually zero relative to one billion dollars, whereas sexual access to one's subordinates is something they highly value
I also previously thought amoral but rational capitalists used rubes by cynically deploying vicious / silly right wing ideologies. But I now think I underestimated how many true believers there are, some of the previously rational got internet brain poison, and there's been change in who's in power.
i had sincerely thought that sexism was a dying prejudice because, in all honesty, up until 2025 i also sincerely believed on at least some level that powerful capitalists with rational but amoral priorities controlled everything and understood the value women bring to the workforce

Congratulations to all the bankers, hedge-fund managers, private-equity honchos, tech titans, corporate executives and op-ed writers for backing the man who will do more to undermine the system that made them insanely wealthy than any other presidential candidate in their lifetimes.

I am really not interested in listening to anyone who has been a lifelong diehard Republican cheering the likes of Reagan, George W. Bush and even Trump himself suddenly shrug “my bad” and then start trying to run OUR (very generally speaking) show. Get down into the mines and do penance a while.

Time to dig up the trolley tracks the car companies paved over
I find "America isn't really set up for it" to be an annoying rebuttal to any sort of proposal to reduce car dependency. Our leaders used policy to create a system of car dependency and we can sure as hell use policy to undo that. There are absolutely barriers, but do nothing is not a solution.

Disney: Holy shit here's a billion dollars

Altman: the machine loses more than that each week but thank you. Soon it will become god.
