I spoke w/local food bank to ask what they needed to most as far as donations, and they requested cash instead of food donations as they can purchase what they need at a deep discount/wholesale rate. Just an FYI in case you were going to purchase food to donate vs. donating from your own shelves.

We had friends over last night and one was doing tarot readings.

this is something that individual members of Congress could do tomorrow. The government is shut down so they could use their district offices. I suggested in January that they turn those offices into full on community centers where people could find each other re: mutual aid etc...

GlobalComix have been hosting generative AI comics for *years*. If you think this recent issue is something new you clearly haven't been paying attention. They've always been problematic when it comes to AI.

Since my last post, too much has been said in the Globalcomix discord to accurately summarize everything that happened, so feel free to go read it all and form your own opinion.

Personally, I saw enough to know for sure that I'm done. I found their replies so far to be SUPER unprofessional and am not interested in talking in circles with them anymore.

They seem to be working on some type of solution, but only time will tell what is actually implemented. I hope they make a larger announcement to address this soon and do better by the community going forward.

But I consider this bridge burnt for TENACITY. There were way too many passive agressive digs made towards artist expressing their legitimate concerns for me to want to continue a professional relationship with this company.
