There it is. This is literal Nazi shit ok
Cases of measles cropped up in two centers for unauthorized immigrants in Arizona and Texas last month. They are almost 1,000 miles apart, yet the centers have one thing in common: They are operated by CoreCivic, a publicly traded detention company with a checkered track record.
Sick Detainees Describe Poor Care at Facilities Run by ICE Contractor
Problems at detention centers operated by CoreCivic extend far beyond recent measles outbreaks.

The daffodil buds in our winter.
My theory of the moment: The extraordinary courage of ordinary people in places like Minneapolis is reawakening us to our social and economic ties to immigrants. It's making "love thy neighbor" cool again. That's the ultimate antidote to MAGA hate.

Thoughts on this:

The idea that you should expected to be thrilled and delighted with the presidential candidate of a diverse brokerage party competing in a sprawling polity also willfully misunderstands the basic nature of coalition politics. You can't order presidential candidates to order like a bespoke suit
Imagine, just imagine, putting this in terms of “delight.” You have a chance to cast a vote against the government terrorizing American cities and presiding over the needless deaths of millions and you need *delight*? Get the fuck out of here.
I will crawl through broken glass to vote against a a Republican bc my life depends on it.

Ongoing, staggering betrayal of the West, of democracy, of America itself. We are now functionally aligned with Russia, and not Europe. And why? What in the world is in it for us?

All of this is making us less prosperous, less safe, and less free and our leaders should be fighting it far harder.
In other words, he will say nothing to Orban and Fico about this because the US only seeks to encourage European leaders who are aligned with Putin.

Musk is a white supremacist, friend of our enemies, a liar, a lunatic and a threat to the US. No company owned or controlled by him should be permitted to do business with the US government.
Elon Musk, a pro-apartheid South African, may have come here believing the US was a bastion of English-Scots-Irish culture. (By the way, were the Irish welcomed by the English?)

My grandparents and so many others came here because of the promise of freedom, tolerance, equal rights, and opportunity.

One can't defeat white supremacist politics without tackling wealth concentration.

They are flip sides of the same coin.

Wealth buys a lot of media, politicians, & influencers to scapegoat immigrants, women's careers, & DEI for pain caused by wealth concentration.
We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

SCOTUS effectively OK’ed third-country removals as the Trump admin is using them on the shadow docket, staying lower court orders reining them in. Further, the specific questions raised here — about refoulement — have come up before, like in this case: www.lawdork.com/p/ghana-refo...

ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

rubio’s invocation of “western civilization” — defined here as racial and religious chauvinism, if not outright supremacy — is a rejection of the more egalitarian and universalistic notions that came out of america’s two revolutions.

In fact when you were POTUS you could not do those things. A judge would have stopped you and you would have been impeached.

Utterly unacceptable in a democracy. In a sane world, House Republicans would be drafting impeachment articles today and Senate Republicans would be preparing for a trial to convict and remove him from office

The flip side of our ongoing crisis of merit. A subset of our crisis of value.
“The memes, the trolling, and the Epstein video slop are all a cultural defense mechanism amid a crisis of impunity.”
I wrote about something I've been thinking about for a long time. A kind of post-ironic collapse in our politics and culture where nihilism has become the lingua franca of the internet and beyond. It links Kirk, Clavicular, Epstein, memestock/coin stuff, mass shooters. I hope you'll read it.
