We are labeled violent domestic terrorists

But they are the violent ones

The true power is with the people patrolling the streets, protecting the children, the elders, our neighbors.

We are the real power & that terrifies them.

Here's the video interview with the women who got arrested by ICE, saved the ICE agent's life after he had a seizure (because the other ICE agents didn't help him) and then got rearrested. youtu.be/atY_aW3isYk?...

ICE detain yet another minor child—chase him down his own street and tackle him to pavement.

"I am legal! I am legal!" he cries over and over in Spanish.

Agent pins the boy down in snow—he desperately tries to keep his exposed hands from freezing at -25°F wind chill temperature.

Shoutout to all the superstars driving the busses and LRTs for @metrotransitmn.bsky.social because they are the coolest and deserve praise for getting all of us downtown. Now let’s raise their budget so we can not max out the capacity of the green line 20 stops from the anti ICE rally

A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

I have been assuming there was some serious discontent at Target right now, so I'm really only surprised it took this long to come out.

I know everyone is sick of hearing from me but I am so fiercely proud of Minnesota, my home. Born here. Raised here. Only ever lived here. I could go on & on about what a unique place it is. People CONSTANTLY ask me why I don't move and I guess the answer lies in what's happening today. Look around.

The chats of people out doing organizing work are POPPING OFF while a great majority marches. The streets are safe, there’s still lots of us out here
that crowd doesn’t even include the people actively patrolling, doing mutual aid, and dozens of small protests on corners throughout the city during the march. really cannot adequately convey the size of this thing that is happening

Minnesotans have been talking about that damned Halloween blizzard for decades but I didn't live here then. I missed it. To my eternal shame.

Trust me- marching against ICE during a polar vortex is NOT to be missed. If you go, no one can ever "out-Minnesota" you again.

Layer up. See you there.

Most of the people I saw saying a general strike couldn't just be spun up out of nowhere were right. I don't think any other place could pull this off right now. The Twin Cities built a citywide support system on every front in like 6 weeks, they are doing the ridiculous backwards in heels.
The prevailing consensus over the last year was that anyone calling for a general strike was ridiculous and ignorant and it would never work here, and maybe that’s true nationally, I dunno, but I bet those people wouldn’t have seen tomorrow in MN coming either
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

My former boss at HOME Line is doing important work tracking eviction filings by the Minneapolis and St. Paul public housing authorities. These are evictions filed against some of our poorest, most vulnerable neighbors. And they don't require anything at all to stop besides an email from management
Yesterday—the same day that the St. Paul City Council unanimously passed a resolution calling for a statewide eviction moratorium—the Public Housing Agency of the City of St. Paul filed 68 evictions.
Average of all alleged overdue amounts: $1,456
More than half are for < $1,000. A couple for < $100.

It's in our suburbs and small towns, too.
I cannot emphasize this enough. If you live in a city, ICE IS COMING TO YOU. Get to know your neighbors now. Start signal chats now. Figure out what you can do well and get to it. See what other cities have done and well and replicate it.
This is also where you have to get your seeds of community in the ground while the ground is soft. Don’t wait until the goons are at your neighborhood schools to figure out who’s going to walk your dog/mind your baby/get everybody fed.
