Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

It’s particularly cool that Alaska is represented in this video by the most conservative town in the entire state.
There are more of us than there are of them. Thank you for a truly historic day of peaceful protests across America. #NoKings

Thus truth 10,000 times.
Related to last RS: learning about the granular history of the Civil Rights movement, it's astonishing how much it was "we're losing, this is doing nothing, what are we doing?" over and over until...they win. It's truly heartening how *not* inevitable it was in the moment.

One reason I stick around is that it's great to see - and I am not kidding -when someone actually follows the convo and gets the point
I believe Tom's point is that MAGA and Trump are fascists, their world view is fascist, but the US govt is not a consolidated, consummate, fascism regime. It's current status is probably a competitive authoritarian government, or at least backsliding rapidly into that category 6 mo's in

@crisesnotes.bsky.social

If a CR passes, agencies will receive appropriations at levels not reflective of recent grant cancelations and firings made by Executive branch. The agencies would get billions in excess funds. These billions will be a huge slush fund for Trump's cronies at these agencies.

This is true. The light brought into the world with Guttenberg is about to be extinguished.
We all laughed at the "pivot to video" and then it destroyed the world and began a thousand years of darkness.

This has been obvious for a long time, but I'm glad more people are saying it.

I was recently asked whether Europe and Japan (and others) could sustain their own "liberal order" without the U.S. The answer is yes, in theory, especially if the U.S. just "sat things out" — that is, remained neutral.
The Trump regime is seeking "regime change in Europe" former Chatham House director Robin Niblet tells the New York Times.

This American-led global far right movement is turning into the Comintern of our times, warns Dutch historian @luukvmiddelaar.bsky.social.

If your downtown still has many wide and fast one-way streets, then your priority is to move cars as fast as possible thru a weak downtown. It’s NOT to create a vibrant downtown, help downtown retailers, keep people safe, support walkability and accessibility, reduce pollution, etc. #TrafficSewers
