The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced the Democrats have to push their hand immediately. The parallels with the delays and subsequent failures after January 6th are blaring warning signs about what will happen if they don’t go after the issues with ICE and CBP at the root RIGHT NOW.

A lot more people should know about the bravery Marimar Martinez displayed in the midst of Chicago’s occupation and the murder of two observers in MSP. They tried to kill her, shooting her 5 times, and it’s a miracle she’s alive to push for transparency like this after being persecuted by the DOJ.

I think it’s really worth underlining how unusual it is to have a former JSOC and SOCOM commander making statements like this directly to senior administration officials.

Hey, here’s a great idea: passing state laws to prevent ICE agents from holding law enforcement jobs in the future.

France has problems etc etc but man this song goes hard
Most English speakers have never heard the lyrics to the French National Anthem in English. It's stunning: youtu.be/7MQ-SC9bmp4?...

Sadly for those of us who hate phones, calling is much more effective than emailing. I will be calling, and if I can do it you probably can.
Friends, I recommend you ALL get on the phones and or send emails first thing tomorrow telling @democrats.senate.gov NO FUNDING FOR ICE. NONE.

They are, per Chris Coons, planning to negotiate body cameras. This willl not change the violence, the invasions of our cities.

People who think we should wait until we win everything think we should win forever. Celebrate interim victories, partial victories, imperfect victories, small victories, because celebrating strengthens the resolve to keep on, reminds us of our power, and also is fun.

Honestly the most important thing Trump is doing now is sending the message that if you fuck up he will not protect you, which has not been the message to date
Bovino's project was to himself become a rally flag for the worst elements of DHS. Turfing him out hurts their morale and makes it clear that today's patron might be tomorrow's underbus.

See: institutional responses to Black Lives Matter, and the Me Too movement.
The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.
