The backstory for this post is that I was racking my brain for something that I could say about the way the death of Charlie Kirk is being used as one more excuse to target the transgender community, spread anti-trans propaganda, and increase the chances that trans people will come to harm.

A Florida court detained a US Citizen for being an "illegal immigrant." He showed the court proof of citizenship. The court agreed—& held him anyway.
