I often wonder how many of my current, extensive, health problems are rooted in the weirdly drippy nose and constant low-level sinus pressure I've had since I was ~8yo. Nobody's been able to figure out what's going on with it and nobody but me has been particularly interested in finding out 😩

Guys, do not use the Discord Checkpoint thing (Discord's attempt at Spotify Wrapped).

I've spent the last 30+ years in LFK not KC but to me this doesn't feel like a revelation so much as one of those scientific studies that addresses what people've been saying/suspecting for decades
insane local news just dropped. i've lived in a part of KC for ~decade and it's been an inside joke with friends and service workers that the local biz/party district is ran by a cartel of biz owners who bully out new ventures and replace them with generic dive bars for white suburbanites.

I hate the metaphor "trim the fat" and I love this thread discussing why it's bad actually!
most famously fat is a store of resources built up in rich times and drawn down in lean times. but it's also a protective layer against external shock, an anti-wear substance distributed throughout the system, it both retains and generates heat for homeostasis—and these uses do not consume it!
