The idea that there are no protests in the US and no one is standing up to Trump is proving incredibly hard to kill over here in Germany. It’s become dogma, utterly detached from empirical reality.
I wonder if the people who keep talking like that understand they’re perpetuating regime propaganda.

We won with a progressive slate of school board nominees against an onslaught of far right goons in 2023, and last year all our candidates ran unopposed. My friend’s slate of progressive housing city council members won handily in a conservative suburb to our north.
If you are:
-a leftist
-who does not like the DNC
-and lives in a red district
-that is rural or suburban
I encourage you to check out your local Dems and maybe get involved. Red districts are often ignored by national Dems; you may have more influence to push left locally than you think.

I think a really big problem with the way society is structured is that I spend a lot of time with really smart people and I don’t think any of them would understand how this is related.
You cant buy a house because our president is really mad he didn’t get a Nobel peace prize and so he is threatening Greenland.

A thing that I want to express is that it seems like it might be fairly easy to keep your head down and just go with the flow if you’re a privileged (white) person here, and not a single person I know has done this, despite fully knowing the risks. All are enraged by this ethnic cleansing campaign.
