Omg, I got lost in my own thread. Well!

Fall semester has just started and I have to write another big old paper again! NOT as intense this time, not a 50 page capstone project, but it's probably going to be AI focused again. So.... Fresh thread, fall semester.

after millions of views and shares of my Portland Frog art. (thank you all🙏🏾) I got requests to highlight priests, and chickens, and Chicagoans, and T-Rexes, and more… all of us who refuse to bend the knee. so this is for US.

Cory Doctorow discussing Synology's bad play. Towards the end of the essay, he lists several instances of companies reversing their bad decisions due to lost business/customer outrage. Kinda nice to read.

You make a great point, I agree! I guess I would be interested in knowing how long it took drs to return to their previous accuracy rates - I guess, how long it took them to get back into practice again or if this was a permanent effect. If it isn't permanent, this it's less significant.

Just so you know, AMD isn’t competitive with Nvidia right now. That could change next year - who knows.

I think I'm so used to seeing the IUD, that the phallic thing will be an after-flavor, y'know? Which is just... that much more hilarious.
corbieailin.bsky.social
Ah, I see what you mean! It really does both!
The Tesla emblem in red on a white background. It looks like a pointy stylized IUD or very sharp downward pointing phallus with a curved line on top.

I am FASCINATED by Taylor's maneuvers even if I'm not a listener, and I LOVE Shakespeare and Ophelia. LOVE what you've written here!

Ophelia didn’t get to rewrite her story, but she made sure the truth flourished.

Taylor keeps rewriting hers, one coded lyric at a time. So Tay, I guess thank you for the lovely bouquet. 🌸

What I Learned From The Fate of Ophelia About Hidden Languages

What if Ophelia wasn’t losing her mind...what if she was dropping Easter eggs? 🌸

She covered the stage in metaphors, handed out coded insults, and drowned wrapped in her own symbolism.

Dismissed as mad, she spoke the only way her world allowed: poetry that bit back.

Painting “Ophelia” by John Everett Millais (1851–52). A young woman floats on her back in a stream, her ornate dress spread out in the water, surrounded by wildflowers. Her head is tilted back, eyes half-closed, arms extended upward, as if suspended between life and death.

If you rename the Department of Defense the Department of War, then bomb fishing boats in the Caribbean, and shoot an unarmed priest in the head with a pepper bullet, you should automatically be barred from receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for the rest of your life.

OMG, thank YOU!!!!

I've mentioned it to people IRL a few times and they just look at me in confusion. But EVERY time I see it, I get momentarily confused about IUDs before I remember it's Tesla.

It absolutely *is* polite! Cooperative overlap is a supportive and loving way of talking. There are only, like.. one or two cultures where it's _not_ considered polite, and they can go fuck themselves if they think the rest of us have to conform lol www.anildash.com/2021/09/26/c...

YES! Especially because it's *so* hard to do deeper journalism solo due to the timelines it takes, and also because working as a collective group gives journalists more resiliency when things go wrong.

I wish to see more journalists doing what @hellgatenyc.com and @404media.co are doing and fewer doing the solo patreon route. I want to pay a collective for my news not one person. Seems like a successful model.
