Call attention to the federal charges of targeted activists in Portland, Oregon.
Those of us with federal charges are being prosecuted in silence with zero media coverage as they federally railroad us.

i spent 26 years in a soul crushing job because i was playing it safe. don't devote your life to a bad job. you are at an age where the possibilities are still endless; go do what makes you happy. go make a difference. never settle. not in jobs, not in relationships, not ever

Those who are 35+, what advice do you have for people just entering their 30s?

Judge: That's what I'll do. Prohibit federalization or deployment of any NG troops into Oregon. For all reasons in prior opinion. Deployment of federalized military is ultra vires and contrary to law, violating Title 10, section 12406. I also find it's likely that defendants violate 10th Amendment.

Hey. Stuff sucks, the suits behind this app are terribad, and shit just isn't gay enough

Now's a great time to support your indie trans authors
pairofclaws.bsky.social
On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo

Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?

I feel safer staying close to the people I know would move heaven and earth to keep me alive.

Maybe that calculus is wrong. The gov’t is so much bigger than my community. But… as terrified as I am, I still feel safer in it than without it.

I said goodnight about four hours ago but alas

The trouble with insomnia as a stress response is that insomnia just makes the stress worse, silly brain.

We're $1795 short with rent and utilities due again tomorrow. Any way you can help is deeply appreciated, whether pitching in or simply sharing 💜
showupforthis.bsky.social
Recap: Rent went up in January, I was laid off, utility rates went up, the kids, dogs, and I've all had urgent health issues in addition to the cost of food, gas, everything going up.

If anyone can help at all, I would be so grateful 💜

YES! THIS on GenAI!

Please read this absolutely splendid piece of writing that had me cheering, a little bit weepy, and writing in the margins:

"An extraordinary amount of money is spent by the AI industry to ensure that acquiescence is the only plausible response. But marketing is not destiny."
Large Language Muddle | The Editors
The AI upheaval is unique in its ability to metabolize any number of dread-inducing transformations. The university is becoming more corporate, more politically oppressive, and all but hostile to the ...

Moment of silence at the New Yorkers Against ICE march. Never saw a moment of silence in the middle of a march. Deeply moving.

So many people have been hurt by this administration.

Abolish ICE.

I kinda hate the glib "I was born with empathy" answers to the "what radicalized you?" question. So how about this: What moment made you realize that you were going to have to be an active participant, that caring wasn't enough and you couldn't just rely on others to take care of society's problems?

I know I keep going on about this but

1) yes

2) it has DEEPLY embarrassed the media people who kept trying to pretend that this regime can be treated as legitimate, and

3) we absolutely cannot let them forget it

That narrative has largely solidified in the minds of everyone who isn't an active ally of the trans community. It was entirely intentional, a despicable crusade against a vulnerable minority that is all the more shocking from an organization that purports to do unbiased journalism.

The NYT undertook to shape public opinion and create a false narrative that trans rights went too far, the loss of rights we're seeing is our own fault, and maybe in 20 years we might be allowed a few rights back.

Yeah, the regime would probably kill everyone who opposed them if they could and yeah, that’s why it’s important people keep openly opposing them in large enough numbers that doing so is grossly impractical. Any questions?
