Pithy commentary best left here, I expect.

Edinburgh, Scotland
First #AmperSand of the year and I completely mis-timed it. The tide was reclaiming it within five minutes of me starting!

Golden hour at the coast. A wild and stormy day when I had to hold on to the tripod and a nearby wall to stop both of us ending up in the North Sea.

You're telling me the previous decade of escalating conservative rhetoric and anti-trans sentiment was never going to stop at transphobia?

I'm shocked. This is my shocked face.

Normally Radio 4 Six O'Clock News is all over anything negative for trans people. Again, not a peep about the failure of the Sex Matters litigation about Hampstead Ponds. They found time for reports on polar bears on Svalbard, a potato glut in Germany, and a tenor falling ill during Turandot. #bbcpm
Ah bless the BBC! Not a squeak so far today from Radio 4 about the failure of the Sex Matters litigation to ban trans women using the Hampstead Ladies Pond, but @evanhd.bsky.social finds some time to question the Green Party having something to say about trans rights. #bbcpm

I also hope it makes organisations who have already capitulated rethink. What do you reckon, @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social? Any chance?
Turns out Sex Matters aren't as expert on the law as they have been telling everyone. I hope the continued failure of anti-trans cases makes organisations who are considering capitulating to these groups rethink.

this also raises the frankly wonderful prospect of some Uruk Hai running a nice little boulangerie deep in the bowels of Isengard
much is made of "meat's back on the menu boys" but personally I'm quite compelled by the Uruk Hai complaining about days-old bread, man's been alive for at most two weeks, was grown from some revolting fleshy underground alien womb and already he yearns for a warm baguette

Re-upping this article in the Guardian Oz, about my research into the extreme harm being caused by Wes Streeting's puberty-blocker ban.

UK mainstream media has collectively ignored my research (as I expected) but not the Guardian Australia.

Needless the UK and US Guardian's didn't share it.

I grew up next to a pub at which Aunt Sally was played. I will forever associate warm summer evenings with the sound of people playing it over the wall, and I miss it dearly.
The Oxfordshire sport of Aunt Sally has been proposed as a contender for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage inventory. Dating from the 17th century, it involves players throwing a stick at a dolly resting on a pole, and is known in France as “jeu de massacre”.
