A stunning detail the ICE chief shared in this hearing that was supposed to be a brag, except it isn't: ICE has arrested 379,000 people between Jan. 2025-Jan. 2026 -- but only 8,700 were suspected gang members or known suspected terrorists.

That's 2%! www.huffpost.com/entry/latest...

"ICE called the police to help them and they showed up to help ICE" is a real admission of a thing they've been saying didn't happen for months.
Says onlookers showed up on street and ICE was "outnumbered and surrounded," called Worcester PD to "keep the peace and make sure no one gets hurt."

I think it’s supercool of the authoritarian panopticon doorbell company to name themselves after the demon video that kills you in 7 days; almost as cool as the authoritarian panopticon precrime software company to name themselves after the evil demon orb that puts its users in thrall to Sauron.

Working off an idea from @actualkatherine.bsky.social, we’ve mapped active searches, canceled deals, and linked state property records.

The choice to frame this rhetorically as a negotiation *with ICE and DHS* rather than, you know, a decision about their future made by their rightful superiors in the popularly elected legislature is, to me, incredibly grating.
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

So when someone has honestly served their time and is being released from prison, guards start walking them outside, but then they divert them to waiting ICE agents who pull them back into custody.

ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

Since the early days of the space program, astronauts have quarantined before missions because any illness could be disastrous. It’s eminently logical — not “extreme” — for athletes who’ve trained their WHOLE LIVES for one event to take similar precautions in order to stay in peak physical condition

Sources at two government contractors told NBC News they were worried that new warehouses — and the large numbers of immigrants who would be housed in them — would present safety problems.
