I'm here for joy, not doom, not politics.
Reader, editor, quilter, hermit, ignores most dms (but not from Maggie because she has Linus stickers). If you complain about entire generations of humans, I will block you.
You can send a love note to Minnesota, and if you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can grab the email address and send a love note to the 2 women who've put this site together!

All the love to Minnesota:

"Look over your shoulder, there's millions of us there to get your backs.
You can play a crucial part, carry justice in your heart.
And we'll be there to get your backs."

Time to go make things; I'll finish a quilt that will wrap around a beloved grandbaby and keep her and her grandma warm with love that spans a continent.
I might finish a quilted curtain to keep our hang out room more comfortable in all seasons.
I might also start another baby quilt.
And: granola.

Do thou, too, remain warm among ice.

There are so many people in this country quietly going about their days doing brilliant and compassionate and beautiful things that will never be documented and I need to remind myself of that today

I hope Democratic senators and congressmen understand, out of pure lizard-brain self-interest if moral decency happens to be unavailable, what is at stake for them if they don't handle this the right way. This is a true "If not now, when?" moment.

Seriously. What the fuck.
I do not want to hear another fucking word from politicians or elected leaders at the top. YOU HAVE FAILED. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

@squishythings.com how cold is it there?
If you’re someplace that has marmorated stinkbugs as an invasive species, they should get knocked back by these temps.

What I really want to know is whether anyone is keeping track of the stupid shit we have to reverse ASAP when things are vaguely hopeful again.
Someone's gotta be taking notes. Who's taking notes?
The United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization.

This is a shameful move that puts both Americans and people all over the world at greater risk from disease outbreaks, which require international collaboration to contain.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Someday I'm going to diagram the paragraph-sentence that follows.
so mystical and well nigh ineffable was it, that I almost despair of putting it in a comprehensible form
