I'm here for joy, not doom, not politics. Reader, editor, quilter, hermit, ignores most dms (but not from Maggie because she has Linus stickers). If you complain about entire generations of humans, I will block you.

vegan pear cake in the oven, pears and apples in the dehydrator; recently baked Hubbard squash put away for pie on Tuesday.

I love the foods of autumn!
Today I received a piece of mail with a single page enclosed in a green envelope.
The page reads simply:
"I am so obsessed with this fountain pen. ❤️"

It's from a friend to whom I gifted a fountain pen in July of 2023.

I feel like I just got a 4.0 in Friendship.

😁

SEE? that's why I included "most Canadian bands from the 90s" I knew I was forgetting some like She Stole My Beer and Spirit Of The West!
I have two, no three, no four...ok, I'll stop counting there.

Neil Finn
Dar Williams
Natalie Merchant
Ani DeFranco

(but also: Great Big Sea, The Arrogant Worms, and frankly, most Canadian bands from the 90s)

No, that's monotony.

Monogamy is a straight-grained, reddish-tone wood that comes from one of three species.
No, that’s monopsony.

Monogamy is when something is really dull and feels interminable.
No that’s mythology.

Monogamy is when there is only a single buyer for a particular service, often leading to wage suppression due to the lack of alternate buyers who would generate market control activity such as bidding.

Got a bit about, you know, knives in this brand new zine. And, there’s a piece in here on slashers, too. The coolest.

She's not on Bluesky, but I want to give a shoutout my friend and longtime writing group fellow Valerie - and her awesome first book! This one was really fun to watch come into being, and the final product is definitely a perfect "book club" read.

We've yet to discover the number. Possibilities seem potentially endless.
I don't have two wolves inside of me.

I have an elder who thinks most problems can be solved through baking and quilting and an 8-year-old who loves fart jokes.

Because this is a wonderful shirt and it looks perfect on you!
Me with every haircut I've ever had except the one when I was 21 and had my long hair chopped off in a bob that looked completely horrible on me. 😂
Happy Birthday! May some of the good that you reliably put into the world come back to you today in ways that you find most meaningful! 🥰
