Palestine is intersectional or it is meaningless. If being pro palestine to you means tolerating antisemites and racists, then you have no business speaking on the issue

there have been a lot of wallets given up to the worst wallet inspectors on this front
Any Palestinian who thinks they have to "give it to Candace owens" is a useful idiot. Yes yes lets align with the far right at a time when the issue is essentially mainstreamed in normal circles. I wonder who benefits from this re-alignment

Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

People aren’t reading, they see that she’s running for a state senate seat but they FEEL like her mom is handing her her house seat.
This is the most I've seen folks care about a California State Senate seat in my life???
Christine Pelosi, daughter of Nancy Pelosi, has announced she’s running for the California State Senate.

I’m angry but also pretty sympathetic to this.
Anyway if you wanted me to go however many more weeks working 40 hours a week for free, you needed to have a coherent theory of victory besides the Power of Poasting somehow convincing Republicans that the ACA was good now, actually

As far as I'm concerned, the case against working to change the Democratic Party from within through electoral politics collapsed with Mamdani's win last Tuesday. Doesn't mean the left will inevitably win or that it won't be a grueling struggle. But ... I mean, come on.
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”
I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

Are the people losing their mind at this aware that Andy Beshear’s dad was governor ten years ago? This stuff is totally normal, she’s not trying to inherit her mom’s seat, she’s nearly 60 and very knowledgeable.

caving was wrong but if you think the minority party will receive backlash or lesson the backlash on the incumbent party over it you have never watched elections
JFC. Does @schumer.senate.gov not get that by caving, Democrats make it *harder,* not easier, to make the ACA subsidies expiring stick politically to Trump/GOP? This effort to shame Republicans in this context risks signaling to low-info voters that Rs are standing on conviction and Dems aren't.

The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

These figures are in nominal terms, which is absolutely wild. Half the things listed here got cheaper or stayed the same *even without adjusting for inflation*.
Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.
If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

"When it comes to the issue of Palestinian rights going forward, I will say that the younger generation, of both Jews and non-Jews, take seriously the idea that we should have a principled, rights-based foreign policy— something I've long believed in"

This was not a surprise to anyone who followed me and other actual reporters who know Supreme Court procedure.
The only places it succeeded were to generate donations for Liberty Counsel and to prompt clicks through ragebait headlines from your favorite resistance grifters.
Sorry, it's true.

Which is all to say there's plenty of reasons to believe the trade off of an extended shutdown is worth it. Right now I don't think ending the shutdown was the right move. But it's not a worthy goal in its own right.
