This INFURIATES me, and this is what us survivor advocates have been saying for years. Keeping local police and ICE separate is a domestic violence issue. Victims won’t call the police if they fear deportation, which emboldens their abusers and escalates risk.

Houston police called ICE on a woman who called 911 to report domestic abuse by her ex-husband.

I think this is true, which is why you can expect a full-on assault on ranked choice from both major parties over the next year-plus. They'll frame it as "your vote doesn't count in ranked choice," which won't be true or make sense, but when has that stopped any of them
Feels like ranked choice was absolutely decisive in this race—not because of the vote count, but because of how it changed the incentives from zero-sum to cooperapetitive. It allowed a fractured left field to align organically through co-endorsements instead of falling into a circular firing squad.

Important for Dems to not only pull out all the stops to bring Garcia home but keep his story front and center. This is much more than abt immigration now - this is abt the basic foundations of our Constitution. Our country's founding fathers fought a revolution & declared independence over this.
Shamefully, immigration appears to be what has kept his overall approval numbers higher than what they should be given that he’s been getting crushed on so many other issues. If he loses the country on this, he’s heading towards late 2nd term George W territory
