This tower of books is every physical copy of a work of fiction by a trans, non-binary or otherwise gender non-conforming author. These are all SFFH and nearly fill one standard bookshelf, and I'm still only scratching the surface of trans literature

🧵Here is some advice re: something that I learned the hard way, and that has made a really big difference in my life, and which I highly recommend digging into if you have the time and energy for it.

I really need some of you to fucking learn this, immediately.
Exasperatingly frequently necessary reminder that the weaponization of ableism and fatphobia and homophobia and transphobia against your political enemies still works to NORMALIZE those things, thus SYSTEMICALLY HARMING your supposed allies.

Trump and Vance have said they will put the working class first.
But from cutting children’s disability benefits to allowing employers to pocket workers’ tips, Trump in his first presidency tried to slash protections for the working poor in ways that have been forgotten by many.

what you will see is a timeline of canva collages telling you offices are closed for the holiday.
what you deserve are organizations living Dr. King’s legacy. 🧵

You shouldn't need a terrible thing happening to us to motivate you to read trans stories, but one is happening today so 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
On that note:
Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.
Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.
Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo

Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"
So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?

I said this after the election and I'll say it again: take up knitting/crocheting. It can be done on the cheap, it's portable, there are millions of free resources to help you learn, and it's useful.
might i recommend taking up a craft of some kind if your body allows. it helps

If not even Crow T. Robot is subjecting himself to that bullshit than neither should you.
I agree with Brandi. If you suspect watching the coverage tomorrow is going to make you miserable, don’t bother. You’ll miss nothing and feel better. It will be boring as hell no matter what!
Personally, I’m not going near it. There’s better stuff to do (almost anything is better).

Log off. You're gonna want to log off tomorrow. I promise you, someone will text if it's that important. Or they won't and you can be blissed out.

I appreciate the sentiment, but gentle reminder that not everyone survived the first term

In what just distressing political theater, TikTok is apparently back because of Trump.
This feels like a threat to all social media companies that the incoming administration can make or break them.
