They lost to the least popular President in US history because they are boring, shitty centrist Dems. It has nothing to do with them being women. Mexico elected a woman and they aren't wildly different from us culturally. AOC is easily my favorite for running in 28.
She lost every swing state. She supported a genocide and her defense of Trans people was nonexistent. She ran on brutal immigration platform. She backed away from her more left leaning policies throughout the process as well.
