Three evenings ago I read an article about using ice packs on the forehead to help beat insomnia. The original study was from 2011 IIRC. Apparently if you drop the temperature of your frontal lobe by a degree or so you trigger a cascade of sleepy time metabolic events.

I'd seen mention elsewhere recently of how we measure the poverty line and it is wild: it's a measurement from the 1960s to be a crisis threshold.
We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.
The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Things I appreciate about Jessica Fletcher (Murder She Wrote): she never learned how to drive, was an avid cyclist in Cabot Cove, she didn't remarry or have a boyfriend BUT she sure did have breakfast with the doc at her house a lot, and she never got caught.
