Nothing says feminism like forcing women to do something they have been vocal about not wanting to do.

This is just so awful.

So many important organisations that have been on their own journey to inclusivity, that have had their own discussions, that support women in so many important ways being bullied into changing policy by people obsessed with bigotry.

And this damage will last for years

The article explicitly notes WI had had a trans-inclusive policy *since the 1970s*!

it felt grimly inevitable with relentless and infinitely funded legal challenges, but god I’m furious and sad for Girlguiding UK today.

So many amazing volunteers left pained and conflicted if they can continue in an organisation bullied into capitulating and excluding trans girls & young women.

But his retirement plans are now in “disarray” and “ruined” cos he’s going to have to find an additional £208.33 per month?

He has £2-4 million in savings/investments but claims he is not “cash-rich” and his house was his only “pension”

Seriously @Telegraph, where do you find these people?🤣🤣🙄

Remarkable how the gambling industry and its allied MPs always yell that if you tax gambling you’re out of touch with the ordinary, salt-of-the-earth working class chap who loves a flutter.

Actual ordinary, salt-of-the-earth working class chap: Tax it! Tax it more! Keep on taxing it, you bastards!
Fascinating that the cash ISA limit is the most unpopular item in the budget. I would have thought it would be unpopular but not more so than e.g. freezing tax thresholds.

So you see, boss, the problem is that it’s very warm in bed, and where I’ve got to go to work is very not warm. You understand my dilemma, I’m sure,,

Would love some in-depth numbers on what the majority of 20-30 somethings basically paying a 9% higher marginal tax rate has actually done to economic behaviour. Feels very under-discussed bsky.app/profile/igma...
Student loan repayment thresholds frozen for a further three years.

More debt burden falling on graduates.

And even more reason to cut university places by 20-30%.

Oh, I mistakenly thought that we were not paying enough into pensions to be able to secure our own retirements and that the government wanted to encourage people to save for old age instead of hoping the state pension would still be there.
