10 years ago I was running 10ks
This week I took 2 sides of A4 worth of symptoms/issues to intro myself to yet another new GP
We still have no real diagnosis beyond "fibro??"

If there was just one thing I wish every healthy person could understand, it is this: ANYONE can get a chronic illness.
Illnesses like #MECFS & #LongCovid can happen to absolutely anyone, it doesn’t matter how healthy you are.
Chronic illness can happen to good people. It could happen to you.

A good portion of my lib degree was learning about how humans process information differently and how to work out the most appropriate answer/questions/cataloguing for the place you're working at
We spent hours analysing averts, headlines, queries, and justifying our undestandings

And this is why I stress that we cannot let genAI take over library processes. Try having genAI figure out how to catalogue that book. Humans use reasoning, our knowledge of the field, patron needs, and yes, our own biases and priorities. Cataloguing tells you a lot about a system's values.

This post is going to be very honest, but not very nice. Stop doing this stupid "love locks" thing. It's not an old Parisian tradition, it's vandalism. It destroys beautiful old things and costs the city money in repairs that it could spend on schools or hospitals or social services.

I'd really like it if Tom Daley wasn't seen as the sole fucking arbiter of knitting, quite frankly
I've been knitting for roughly 25 years and it only ever gets considered "cool" when a man does it and honestly the devaluation of the skill because it's "women's work" pisses me right off

For transparency, my husband earns over twice the average wage and his wages pay for ALL our mortgage/bills and is the *only* reason I can afford to 'be a creative'
My income mostly pays for 'disability tax' stuff
(he also has life insurance in case/for when he dies before me, else I'm fucked)

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on

I did!
It was essentially a patchwork blanket, it saved me £500 in a new cover and was an Olympics project (CO at opening ceremony, was done before the closing one)
In cheap acrylics, all garter, SC crochet to seam, 4 seater, gave me a good 3-4 years more from the sofa

Okay so my lukewarm take on #GameOfWool is that the title is stupid and also they’ve really fluffed on what knitters want to see. Give them more time, let them knit a proper fair isle jumper, stop calling crochet knitting.

YARNIES!
I have a sweater, 2/3 done, that's been *ravaged* by moths
I suspect my most sensible route is to unravel, wash, discard the weak points as I re-wind, & restart from scratch.... Does this seem like a fool's errand?? It feels less wild than darning/patching & hoping I've spotted them all??

As someone who only moved in 2 years ago, this is so *so* true
I've found my community, my home, a sense of belonging
I've moved a lot around the UK, but never felt settled until the day we moved here. And I do mean from the *day* we moved here, the very 1st.

This is the TRUE Cymru/Wales 🏴 Wales is in your heart, your bones, your belonging, your devotion to our land, it's language, culture, history & heritage,It's future & prosperity, It's NOT where you were born! You can be Welsh even if your not born here! Except Wales as part of you & Wales accepts YOU
“Being Welsh is not about where you were born, who your parents were or the colour of your skin. Being Welsh is about belonging.”
We are the only party with a positive vision for our future - fighting for fairness and ambition because the people of Wales deserve so much better 🏴

It's interesting (and good!) that the Celebrity Traitors has broadly gone for people who are sort of entertaining company, rather than going with the more common reality TV model of "let's pick some people who we can rely upon to be abject arseholes to each other".

I bought the ghost as a gift for someone who has a taste for the macabre and a Halloween-adjacent birthday. But he also likes whimsy, and the ghost looked a bit naked in just a sheet, so I added the crocheted kitty hat. It was improvised as I went along with two strands of leftover sock yarns.
